The reason that the taxes on dividends are because swiss franc is maybe the best currency in the fact that devalues very less in relation for example to the US Dollar, so you have like a premium thats why they tax because of that, they know people will accept that tax because they have other advantages, i mean good video but imo not very complet is easy to say dont receive dividend in switzerland but what is alternatives ? Owning only Tech stocks/ growth stocks yeah no thanks
I like this new type of video, regarding how the money is managed and companies as well, Sweden is an idea I'm throwing you out. Since their bankrupcy in 1992, they've done many interesting economic choices. Ps : fun fact, I was checking for Swiss equities 2 days ago
Correct me if im wrong but the amount of assets owned by a central bank doesnt necessarily make its currency safer. A central bank can go rogue at any time printing money and buy/spend God knows what with it. Hyperinflation can happen at any time, anywhere
the 35% Withholding tax is a hard pill to swallow, but the fact that every company worth investing in has a 25PE plus makes it definitely not for me. The only slightly interesting stock was Lafarge, but their revenue is global so no point investing
Hi Maurice, i live since decades at the boarder to switzerland and can tell you that the swiss withhold tax refunds are one of the fastest/ easiest in the world. Also it is possible to sell stock before Div ex date and buy back later. Swiss bond coupons are withhold tax free if you sell before coupon ex day. I like your videos, very interesting. But this one was boring coz most people know all this. So this guy was not telling sth new. In addition let me tell you that not everything is so nice in switzerland how it looks like from outside.
Thanks for your input Marcus. Most people, especially North Americans, don’t know much about this topic. You do because you live near the border 😉 With regards to life in Switzerland, I agree. Extremely boring. Lived there for a while myself and was quite happy to leave 🇨🇭
@@TheWanderingInvestor I got this often from people who were staying in switzerland 😂( mostly coz of their well paid jobs). And some of these switzerland guys are a bit - let's call it special, not easy to connect with them. There are reasons why switzerland stands alone in this world. We all saw in the past that there is no helping hand if they get in trouble. ps. as an independent and never employed investor since almost 40yrs, I like your lifestyle (what i know as outsider from yt). Will be for next 2 months in Kenya ( thanks to your videos not for buying real estate😂). In case you are around or you ever come to lake of constance, let me know.

I would like to ask, do you get anything out of investing like some money or benefits?
