Hi lovely ladies, another enjoyable podcast. So excited for the #splashintoadvent2024 I am hoping to get my oldest advent blanket finished. My sister and I have had a very difficult couple of years after loosing our parents 8 weeks apart which in turn helped us to reconnect and we have helped each other through our grief. She is my best friend. Love the relationship you both have. Have a wonderful summer ❤❤❤
That must have been so hard for you and your family! It's good to hear that you and your sister have reconnected in such a meaningful way! Thank you for your kindness and support on our journey with this podcast...looking forward to knitting along with you!
Love you both! Have soo much fun with your Splashintoadvent2024. I’m caught up on my Advents, but may choose a pattern and some scraps! What a Great idea! I also HAD to go in on Charming Ewe’s Advent! Can’t wait to see it! Have fun with your knitting!! ❤
Great spending time with you today!! I, too, am a planner with my knitting, so good to know there are more of us out there! lol! It’s great to have a good friend you can go to! I do not know what I would have done without mine the last few years! She is a knitter and knows way more than anyone else does, and doesn’t judge.
Thank you so much! You are so right...nothing beats a close friend to know all the things and still lift you up and cheer you on! It's a powerful relationship that not everyone will experience in their life!
Hey ladies! such an amazing episode! you inspired me to pick up a pair of socks that has been languishing in my WIPs basket for months! Thank you for sharing all you "advent" / mini projects! I always buy mini sets from dyers new collections and then they just sit and look pretty... Now im inspired to actually use them! See yall soon!
Ladies, once again, nailed it!!! Jeanie at Fiber Genie has been so kind! I’ve placed two hauls from her. 🤩 Jenn, I believe you and I are thinking of the same Advent, releases tomorrow. 🥳 Corrina and Jenn, your friendship is so great. In life we need what you two have. It’s already hard and our husbands take on so much already with the businesses and sometimes don’t understand. They try but only a true girlfriend does… Hope the nachos and were on point. 💕
Hello lovely ladies, I am over the moon that you are showing off your love-note sweater. I am looking forward to jumping onto the sweater train and that pattern is what I've chosen. Thanks for suggesting their app . Your Alberta senior follower. 🥰
It feels so good to finish a long standing pair of socks! I've done that recently too. Yay for reminding me about pulling out my advents. I hope to participate in this knitalong. :) another great episode!
Thanks for another fun episode. I’ll be joining in on the splashintoadvent MAL. I have my 2024 Camijo which will become an Anthology throw. I also have Ambah O’Brien’s Radvent on the needles using matching sets of 10 minis. I needed mine to be symmetrical or my brain might have exploded. I also have my Woolens & Nosh sock skeins from 2023. This is a great incentive to finish up some of my untouched advent boxes. At some point I will make a Sweet Shop blanket as well. Just not this summer.
Totally understand the need for symmetry in a cardigan so that it is mirrored. You have some great things on the needles and some fun plans! Happy knitting!
Oh, I do hope I will be able to snag a spot at the retreat. You girls had me laughing out loud. I like the idea of an Advent, kind of like Corrina likes the idea of planning😊 After ordering 2 and using them in other things, I now like to find a project/kit and knit that during Advent. Enjoy your day. Kim
Love your podcast, been watching every episode. I want to start knitting but haven't started yet. Love your advent projects and can't wait to see your FO's.

🥹🥹 thank you ladies for the love once again. Right back at ya! Love your podcast and your friendship. Thank you for sharing your love of all the things 🥰 much love
I am hoping to start the Sonder Wrap...a new crochet pattern that uses minis/advent yarns. I appreciate the makes you both share. You have been a great inspiration to me. I might even cast on my first socks based on your suggestions from the last podcast,
Knitting on my Kuutar Tee while watching: your friendship is to be treasured: true friends are hard to find and very precious! Love the Christmas/Valentine, Easter, and 'so on' tree; what a great idea!
I knit the Sweet shop blanket with my DIY advent last year. I kept up every day! What I discovered is that 25 blocks is not a big enough blanket. Lol. I will be working on it now.
I found you on your first podcast, and followed you ever since. Your friendship is an inspiration. What a blessing! I haven’t ever tried an advent….in fact, I was searching on Ravelry while you were talking. I’m not sure I will be able to keep up, but it looks like fun!
Another idea for knitting advent is to ball up some of your own scraps or minis and then put them in a bag and number them to open. It's a great way to use what you have too!
Great catching up with you ladies! My summer knitting at the moment is the Drawstring Camisole by Purl SoHo for my daughter’s birthday (the 11th), socks for Summer Sock Camp with The Crazy Sock Lady, the Color Affection shawl MAL with Sprinkled Fibers and trying to squeeze in finishing a blanket (my own design) from my advent my sister dyed for me last year. We’re having a great stretch of perfect pool weather right now during my vacation week so the pool is getting the most attention! 😂
Loving these episodes, ladies!! Wanted to pop on here and say (just so there’s no “disappointment” at what you’re getting) - the Freckled Whimsy advent sock skeins don’t have the hidden colors and aren’t in a hidden, separate bag. They also aren’t separated by a main color (unless she’s doing it a different way this year). I’ve gotten them the last 3 yrs (ordered again this yr - this will be the 4th yr) and the colors are all in full view from the beginning and, at least for me, I’ve found that I need to knit 2 colored stripes a day to get the full socks done by Christmas (there is usually a twice over repeat of all the colors for me). As far as I’m aware, Woolens and Nosh is the only one that does the hidden stripe/bag/separated by a main color advent sock set. Freckled Whimsy’s is always gorgeous and fun though! I just pulled out one of my ancient advent projects to try and finish - The Adventuresome Wrap using Primrose Yarn Co.s 2019 advent. I'm also going to spin my Primrose Yarn fibre advent calendar for Tour de Fleece.... I may have an order on the way from the Fiber Genie because I saw her lovely Christmas fibre!!
I've ordered two Advents and I have zero idea of what the 1st one was! 😂 I only remember the 2nd because I just ordered it a few days ago. I decided to not feel guilty about ordering them, because I figure we should get a treat especially if hubby's not great at buying gifts! 🙃

And I’m looking forward to seeing your progress on your Advent projects 🎄 I was wondering if you have ever thought about using Telegram or Discord for your podcast KALs? Lovely podcast again!! I always think...oh I do not have any advents...and then I remember I got a surprise self-striping Christmas skein that I have never opened since last year! Thank you for the kind words! Advent knitting means a lot of different things to a lot of different people...LOL! Typically it is where you purchase an advent calendar in yarn form. It's a bunch of minis that are numbered and the intent is to knit on them daily as you open. Some people don't purchase yarn advents and make their own out of scraps or yarn from left over projects. Some people package up their own advent and swap with someone else. It can be done in a variety of different ways. Hope that helps!
