Ian is an artist of unparalleled integrity and constant reinvention. He is a beautiful human being.i just bought the entire Jethro Tull catalogue from 1968-1982. Incredible records.
I saw him play in 2023. One of the worst concerts I've been to in years. He didn't have enough breath to sing properly. He's said in the past he has COPD. Doesn't mind charging people to see "Jethro Tull" when he couldn't sing. In contrast, I've seen Martin Barre a few times recently and he is still awesome. A much more genuine Tull experience.
I saw Jethro Tull in 2006 and it was disappointing. The tour was to promote the anniversary of the release of Aqualung but the show was very self-indulgent. For reasons best known to the band they played a cover of "Kashmir".
I bought the Aqualung album in the 70s when I moved to California. Just recently I went searching for that album and realized I had converted it to mp4s on my laptop. I kinda wish I'd kept the album. Anyway, now I am re-obsessed with all things Ian Anderson and Jethro Tull. London 70s Thick as a Brick - love that performance. Yesterday I stumbled across an hour documentary on Ian, I think maybe from the 80s or 90s? I forgot to look at the date. He farms salmon, sheep, and Scottish Highland cattle. And his wife rides horses (maybe Ian does too? I've seen him wear riding pants on stage). They really seem like great people, intelligent, and enterprising. I am more obsessed, and before I'm done, I will have read everything I can find on the interwebs, and watch every video on YT. What a life, Ian Anderson. Well done! I am impressed you are still going strong at 76yo!
Ian, you need Jesus. But you have everything and don't need Him, and your steady pursuit of religious understanding testifies that you are still looking for your final thought. Ponder and study some more and hopefully you'll find Him. Nice album cover BTW. Clue: Jesus is in that hollow face. Fill that cup of wonder.
I saw Jethro Tull play twice in my life....great band !
Amazing Musician right here. Wrote Great songs, not just 1 or 2 But many!!!!

I enjoyed seeing his garden.
Video seemed unloved. Thought I should drop a comment. 😢
