VIDA will do everything and these apps won’t. I have it, I paid £60 for it on eBay around March last year and the DICE unit. I bet you’ll find other fault codes in your car if you use VIDA. My car shows no faults on a normal reader but VIDA shows everything and it’s correct. You might get generic codes on your app but Vida will tell you much more.
You have to pay VIDA or Volvo like 100 quid per hour to use the software if you don’t have the jail break version which is unlimited use and highly illegal if you get caught
I have the Autel ap200 and it gives you so much more information, you are able to see live data for individual modules, the CEM, trans, DPF body modules etc it also has service modes including DPF regen, rear brake service, Steering Angle Sensor, code new keys. It even found a fault in my door modules linked to the auto windows which my normal plug I'm scanner didn't find.
I paid £325 for a laptop and dice. It has Vida, Vdash, Delphi, Haynes manuals and all Volvo wiring diagrams. My neighbour had a scanner he paid £1700 and I couldn’t reset BMS, no access to ABS and couldn’t reset gearbox adaptations. With Vida I can do it all. Also using Vdash to activate remote start that wasn’t available on UK models at a time. Will come in handy in winter, no more freezing my backside waiting for car to defrost.
Hi, I've just read your post and am interested on where to get the stuff you talk about, I've just bought a 2014 xc60 from our niece but there's a large list of problems, volvo want silly money just to connect to there software, park assist, dab radio not working, abs, esc, power drain, be grateful if you can let me know where to aquire the stuff and is it pretty simple to use. Cheers
Hi. I've found your Vids on maintenance and diagnostics insightful since I'm trying to understand my first volvo bought not too long ago, the xc90 D5 2007 model. I intend getting an obd2 scanner shortly and I needed to ask whether you're familiar with the error message on the dashboard, "start prevented try again". It doesn't encourage not to start the car which is somewhat a relief to indicate this is not a very serious issue but it would start, at times just crank with no start or it just makes the relay noises, no crank. I've checked fuses, relays, changed fob battery and car battery and there's only 1 key. I'm about to get diagnostics done and probably have the key reprogrammed. Any advise concerning this message so that I don't run around all over the show? Oh and I've bought it with the issue with hopes to get it sorted since I managed to drive it and most things checked out except for this seemingly electronic or security issue.
Another interesting video! Could you please confirm the exact names of the 2 apps as I may have misheard and this could be why I am having problems Thanks. Keep up the good work!

@np4tch yes it will
Vdash will code injectors, not Vida.
@@Dalbayob69 yes I did mention that in my comment but it kept being removed so I just said yes it will but I meant using that

Great video. I'm going to order one now, it looks like the prices gone up as Amazon is showing £34. Keep up the good work.
I have this as well -V70 P3 D5 R-design.
Looks like I'll be getting one for my 2007 XC90 soon. Also great if you're shopping for a replacement vehicle... Stay safe.

It looks like some of these apps are only available for Android ☹️
