Saved me! Thank You! Just one note sometimes applying iron on plastic can backfire. Hence I kept a thin cloth in between. Still worked like a charm!!

God bless you, the physics behind cutting the edge is, to creat a tiny hole to let air pass through it so that it makes the paper detach from the plastic when the plastic thermally expands it creates bubble b/n the paper and the plastic

This is a service.. what u have done.. saved many people's life in all sense... Education is a life time effort.. those who have laminated must be the most careful one about it.. You saved their run for duplication(which may take days or weeks or months or may be years), travel to the distant place where the have studied years back, their abroad travel for job or studies, most importantly the stress that too at home.. kudos.. this may be a trivial hack for you a hack that you have heard on the go..
One suggestion if you don't know the temperature use a cloth in between just in case..
But why does one has to remove the lamination ? I am thinking of laminating my Marksheets ,so want to know the reason behind removing the lamination ...will be great if u share ur insights ...🙏
@@RahulSingh-oi8mf never ever laminate important documents like mark sheets old property documents which are about to get torn.. mark sheet is not acceptable to almost all universities abroad or India if you are trying for post graduation and also for your job too specially planning to go abroad.. becoz if laminated officials will doubt that it is a forged one.. many degree certificates have holograms sticker seals etc all these are important they are not just mere stickers.. it can also get tampered if you are removing lamination which will only end up in applying for duplicates
@@veda2173 but the marksheets have their respective serial numbers which is enough to know the authenticity of the documents
@@RahulSingh-oi8mf photoshops can be much more authenticated than that..And forgery is also a reality.. As I said before universities and other offices put special clause that the documents must be produced original, not colour copies nor laminated.. I am not cooking these up but it is the sad reality. If you are planning to do a job which you think for 100% won't be needing your mark sheets.. You can do it but I will never recommend.

First cut the edges if the kamination then it separates easily and the apply iron round and round in circles all over the document make sure no area is missed and do it slowly and patiently dont apply force to pull off the film
practice on similar lamination first
get something laminated and practice
It worked perfectly for me
i did it on marriange certificate
if you are not carefull you will spoil the original permanently

Great idea and its free aswell. You saved my money and time and docs. I have done it very easily with this idea. Even 4-5 shops refused to remove the lamination and told me it is not possible and not safe .

@@taetae-rb5kzDo not touch the laminated paper/Docs with heated Iron. Just hold the heated Iron very close to the docs at least maintain 2 cm distance and move it slightly and remove the polythin from the paper. While doing the activity you can unplug iron for better safety.

I think it is safer to use hair dryer. Ironing is too risky. It may ruin important documents.
After removing lamination, I think it is good idea to scan the document and upload to online storage like Google Drive. Then it goes with you where you go in this world.

I really can't believe that it worked. I am extremely grateful to this man for this trick. I was so worried to get off the lamination of my documents. I easily managed to take them off. There was no problem at all. I don't know why people are giving negative comments about this.
One thing I would like to suggest to others is that don't use very hot iron. Heat it to medium temperature. And spread it all over the document. It will very easily come out.

We can Use it on a thin Lamination
This only works with very thin laminate sheeting, not the thicker grades of laminate sleeves.

Just removed film from my citizenship document that I laminated years ago as got told by government agent earlier today it is not valid since it is laminated and I'd have to apply for a new one which could take forever. I was just using it to verify my maiden name! Bull tweet on applying for a new one!
I used to laminate all kinds of things for people and noticed some boating charts/maps that people brought in to me to re-laminate because the film was coming off because they had the charts in their boats (moisture and heat from sun). First laminating was done by someone else who had not left a film border around the edges, so started peeling off on its own. So it made sense to try heat first from hair dryer or clothes iron with a sheet of paper over the document to buffer the heat from iron and then maybe over steaming pot of water if that didn't work. Make sure to cut or run sharp scissors along all the edges to trim right to the document, then try the steps as per this video very carefully. I would start on removing the most important side first though because that keeps the flimsy document thicker while you are fiddling with removing the film - still - be very careful and do it sooooo slowly.

@@Abigailjohnsonmusic Unfortunately not. I put a cloth between document and iron and it actually crunched up a bit more. I first started at a corner to try to pry up bit by bit but that didn't work either. The document ink was lifting with the one side of laminating film.

@@Abigailjohnsonmusic Yes, I will have to get a new citizenship ID. They don't make those large size ones anymore, it will just be a smaller card. The forms are actually on the government sites, but it is a bit of a run around to find them, as is anything with the government. I have printed and also saved the form to my pc but I will also need to have a specific size photo done too. I'm in a remote place without a passport photographer anywhere near, so will have to tinker and do it myself to get it the exact size and specifications to send in with my form. I think it is $75.00. It is all just a nuisance that they did not accept the laminated one as you can feel the raised stamp part and everything was clear and flat. The only reason I really need the citizenship ID is to get my social insurance name changed. Stupid thing is that I still have the card with the same social insurance number with my maiden name, but this is what we get when governments complicate something simple. All they really needed to do was confirm my documents and type in my last name change... All because of a thin plastic film! It doesn't seem to be any difference if I say I lost the original or damaged it; same amount of mountains to climb to get a result.
Good luck getting yours. I read somewhere it can take about 6 months of waiting to get it.
Marg Des I agree with you! It’s just a thin plastic and government is making everything so complicated! Everything can be felt on the card, it is just a thin plastic layer! So strange government can be about petty things. It actually cost $585 including biometrics in the U.S plus it takes 6-9 months to revive
