I've never been in a similar situation, can't imagine how you must feel, but as the comment said above, we all take loses, the question is what do you do about it. How do you look at it, you can either cry, smoke and drink the pain away which will put you into a deeper hole or you can distract yourself with working on yourself, on idea you always had, business, something which will make you feel much better. I was on the other side of this type of situation my mom and me left and my dad was drinking for years, so many times when I wished he just stopped so I can have a father figure, everyone knows we need that these days.
