How To Make A Brick Book
ฝัง
- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 9 มี.ค. 2012
- A thoroughly fun crafting project. Turn a used brick into an old "book." These books make great gifts, as they can be designed to fit any personality. This project is a great way to recycle old materials into a new gift!
And, it's not just for creating books! Check out our pin at pin.it/2qPuKfP to see a fun, whimsical portrait! We look forward to hearing what you have created on brick!

No hard set rules here. I used acrylic paints, paint pens, and of course some nicely distressed old bricks. Glad you like Brick Book! Have fun making your own.

Hi. Love the brick book, want to make over school holidays, could you please post a list of requirements.
I will make this
I absolutely love this idea! I would love to use these in my garden with titles like "Secret Garden" "Wind in the Willows". Should I use oils or acrylics? Or acrylic with a sealant? The sealant would make it shiny, no?
You could use either acrylics or oil. if you use acrylics you could give them a couple of coats of acrylic spray varnish or paint then with a watered down Liquitex mat medium. I have not put any outside to test this out but I think it would make them last
a long time. Good luck on your idea, it sounds really neat.
I'd like to put these in my garden. What do you recommend for weatherproofing?
I've not put them outside, so I'm guessing, but I would think a good polyurethane coating might work for a while. They'll definitely age out there, just like a book would!
Would pastels work on this - i would need to fix it with fixative of some sort. what would you recommend?
That is a very interesting thought! There are charcoal and pastel fixatives available or you could experiment with clear acrylic spray.Good luck with your idea.
I am going to make them up this weekend with another design friend and former classmate. She wants to take a break from looking at computer code @.@ I will share pics with you :D Cheers!

Which paint is used?
Acrylic
I'll use woodprix instructions instructions to make it by myself.
