It was burgers hotdogs potato salad coleslaw macaroni salad. Unf we didn’t have baked beans or mac n cheese but my mother (before she became a hard-core health food mom ugh) used to make hotdogs & baked beans and mac & cheese as a kid. I worked at my bartending gig for the 4th yest upstate NY.. it was fun…then down the street from my apartment they did some sick fireworks that I got to see from my balcony. So that was cool…

I had the same experience with shake shack when I bought hot dogs.. the waiter came to our table with those naked hot dogs and we go upset, he said that’s how the new york style hot dogs are. Then the manager told us what we wanted and they added condiments on it, great customer service 😊
They did back in the day, but true chicken and taco and burger places started advertising, why would you get your chicken from a burger place, and it started a food war. They did this in the 80's. This was more of a war with franchise restaurants, the local burger stand has always sold everything, that's why they are still around in the U.S.

Just tomato sauce on the hot dog thats all thats needed. American mustard is weak and tasteless so you can have alot on. In the UK the English mustard is that hot it would give you brain freeze so all you would be able to put on is a little fingertips worth.
