I watched till the end , great story . I’ll be in Bangkok in July for the first time , I’m from Kilkenny in Ireland , living in Australia for many years. I have a few stories on what’s it’s like to move over this side of the world and what not to expect and what’s changed and what advice I’d give to anyone who wants to look for their next move here .

Great interview! I’m from Brooklyn and experienced 9/11 as well. I hope that Thai family paid it forward or at least tried to pass along a gift for Mr. Charlie taking care of them. I love his quote about being American and loving his country. I feel them same way. Enjoy your retirement Mr. Charlie ❤️

@@ThairishTimes very true! I love my country and all of the opportunities I’ve been afforded as an American. I think so many people come here talking bad about their countries because they don’t have the freedom to run a muck like they do in Thailand.

Great interview Pete. Charlie is the real deal, and yea he's in great shape for his age. I would have guessed at least eight or ten years younger than 72.
I live about 30 miles NE of NYC and remember the morning of 9/11 very well, FDNY lost over 300 men that day. Like Paddy Brown they were headed up the stairs into harms way.

Thank you for responding. I always appreciate when youtubers respond to comments. I greatly enjoy your quality interviews, I only wish you would focus a little more on the Thai part of people`s lives (for obvious reasons, I think). As much as this gentleman`s firefighting story was fascinating to listen to, I would really love to learn more more about his business experiences in Thailand ( for example: what does it mean that it is "very difficult" to start a business in Thailand - in what sense difficult?, etc.). Also the yoga thread left me wishing for more details. Overall, great job, glad more`s coming up.

Cut it out Pete....... EVERY vid you produce, those you interview, are all GEMS mate.... I’ve been having a Thairish afternoon binge watching your episodes, and each and every one of them I find enthralling, listening to others tell their stories.... Everyone you interview have really interesting life stories, and what I like is that you let them tell their story, with minimal interruptions or talking over them. All the great journo/interviewers would research their next guest, then design their questions to lead the guest to reveal more and more to a conclusion, pertinent to the guest..... all the while taking the viewer on a roller coaster of learning, emotions, knowledge, and personal reflection...... Kudos Pete, you are well on your way mate... THANK YOU again for the opportunity to ‘meet’ and spend time with such colorful characters, cheers from Chiang Mai............

There is something very appealing and enjoyable listening to people that are passionate, especially about their career. Charlie is no exception. Good to hear Charlie has processed what happened on 9/11. Not an easy event to have to go through, more so when you personally know people that lost their lives.
In regards to Charlie's business, he 'could' create online yoga classes, and all his previous class attendees could then log in and still take his classes and he would have a revenue stream. If he markets this and grows the audience not only would his revenue of course grow, but it then creates an opportunity to sell yoga clothing, equipment etc. Maybe Charlie hasn't got much experience of the online world, but it shouldn't be difficult to learn the knowledge needed to get it off the ground.

A woman my wife worked with her ex husband was on the plane out of Boston that was Hijacked. He was getting out of town because the ex was getting married that weekend to their best friend. His name is at the memorial. There is also a great Irish pub near the fire engine house next to the trade center,a Guinness there is 6usd a good deal! 8usd for a Guinness in Boston.

Pete, you're getting better & better as an interviewer...almost natural now & maybe there's a future in it for you. There's a shortage of good interviewers in the tv industry, that for sure.
Charlie seems a real nice guy & looks amazing for 72. It's great that he looks after himself.
