Some people who play with their keyboard sideways (see CS pros) might. It kinda depends on the lenght of the pinky as well, mine is way too short to be able to reach anything that close to upper side of the keyboard.
@@edragon4435 It kinda is considering my ring finger is on A and my pinky is substantially shorter than that (about 60% of ring finger lenghth) and to the side of it. If i have a straighten out pinky tip on Q, rest of my fingers are as follows: ring finger tip between 2 and F1, miiddle finger tip just over F2, index finger tip on F3 or F4. Even if I bend the fingers it is impossible to hit anything substantial with rest of my hand if I use pinky on Q. I definately cant press anything below QWERTY this way. I do not think I use pinky on anything other than Lshift when quick-typing. When playing games I got ring finger on A, range: ZAQ1, middle finger on W, range: XSW2, index finger on D, range: CDE3R4F, thumb on Space, range XCV,SPACE, LAlt, pinky on Lshift, range: LControl, Lsight, barely Caps. I got a mouse with two side buttons, so I use that also.
@@rajahava Ah, ok, that's why then. 'Proper' typing posture is the pinky on A. If you're doing something different for gaming then of course hitting Q with the pinky would be harder.
@@ltecosta likewise. in hots i use pinky for TAB (builds and in other games for map) and voice chat on the fly. ringer is for q and a, middle is for w and index is for e and ult. dont use pinky on skills cause its less responsive (the finger).
I use pinky for Q, because I use force attack on T with my index finger. Easier to do kiting that way and when ult unlocks index finger can jump between T and R. If I ever need shift + Q I just move my hand one key left, press shift with pinky and Q with ring finger.
I spent so much time playing FPS games growing up that my pinky rests on CTRL no matter what game I'm playing. The comfort issue aside, I'm a tall guy with proportionate hands, pinky on Q means your resting a more active finger (index) on the button you'll be pressing the least (R) throughout the match, and that doesn't make sense to me. Resting the pinky on CTRL also means your pinky is more ready to queue commands with SHIFT if you do that kind of thing at all.
in my normal gaming hand position my fingers go on shift, a, w, d, and space respectively. So when I play hots my ring finger is on, q, middle finger on w, index on e, and when I r I move my index finger. Sometimes I do press e instead of r or vice versa, but I've gotten too used to this position at this point.
I don't use pinky for Q because the control is not as precise plus the hand position is kinda awkward. Also the pinky is harder to spam press and could unintentionally share some of the movement with the ring finger, maybe that's just down to practice though.
Damn, fewer people use their pinky for Q than I thought. I understand pinky on shift is probably fine and the index can double for E and R but now I am so used to my hand position I cannot change anymore.
Fan your hand placement is right, everyone else is wrong They are different, so they are wrong, that's how it works right? Pinky on shift, crazy people has it on Q, they using their elbow on Q
Challenge for you: Win a game with KTZ where you cannot use anything besides Q, W, E, R. Basically no mounting, recalling or using any active abilities like glacial spike is allowed.
for mobas I use my pinky on q, anything with wasd movement it goes to shift, ngl, I don't get ehy some people don't use it for q and a if movement is mouse controlled, other than pure habit
I press Q with my pinky. It makes sense if you learned how to type on a keyboard before you play PC games. Ring with W, middle with E, pointer for R. I use spacebar for mount in HOTS
OMG, my hands look a lot like Fan's, that's weird. They are trolling you, the reason why nobody uses their pinky is because: 1. It's too short and your main 3 fingers have close size which fits perfectly fine with QWE being alined next to each other. 2. The pinky doesn't have enough strengh.
I've been playing HOTS for years... now i feel dumb. What is SHIFT button for? I'm thinking i remapped it to something else because i ain't clicking that shift button in games.
In many RTS games Shift is used to create command queue. In HOTS if you hold shift then R-click one place, then r-click the other, your hero will do the 1st command, then the 2nd. It's not restricted to movements. Anything could be queued. For example you clicked to capture tribute, while you capturing tribute you hold shift press Z, then while holding shift r-click somewhere. Your hero after channeling tribute will mount and then move where you ordered.
If you press Q with your little finger, then you have the skill of typing on a keyboard with 10 fingers. This is useful for work, but for gamers it is useless :3
Nobody presses Q with their pinky!!
I do

4:30 was insane 😮
I don’t press q with my pinky because I do not have itty bitty baby hands
Q pinky is like full-fist spoon hold.
You just left me hanging on the results of that poll... I MUST KNOW!
BTW, I use my ring finger on Q too... At all times actually.
Reminiscent of World of Warcraft + FPS games.

hiii genuine question, during the first leveling powerup, wouldnt it be better to take the "battered assault" for more auto attack healing?
Q left pinky "q" right pinky right shift. IT's just pinkies all the way down.

If you ever feel useless, remember there are healing fountains in this games (which are not needed with this insane amount of healing).

I have shift bound to my mouse buttons 🙃
My pinkie is on shift or cntrl, have bad habit from playing metal gear rising where default run button is ctrl
I have the hand position on my keyboard I got long fingers too
