To be honest I’ve never had an issue with it. I work quick and if the ends are porous I rinse them first and put conditioner on before moving to the root. 😃

I'd love to know how this goes when client comes back for a re-colour. Does it make it hard to brighten over previously darker roots?
No it’s a Demi so it totally fades off, then you just re lighten the roots and re apply.
How Do you rinse to avoid colour blending?
