Wonderful... Who said Beethoven couldn't write for voice? With this man's genius he puts it in context of the symphonic orchestra.Easily the greatest musician who ever lived.
I first heard this piece when a youth in New York in the late 60s. It blew my mind then and has again, seeing this wonderful orchestra, choir and the superb conductor, D.N. Thank you all. 👏👏👏
Impressive choir ! Beethoven.? no this is music from GOD.A gigantic masterpiece of spirit...FOREVER.Every orchestras and players have the duty to do their best
It's the UCLA Chorale (students) and the Angeles Chorale (community members) combined. Some of the soloists were students. The pianist is the UCLA director of orchestral studies.
Es la peor interpretación que he podido oír jamás. Seis errores del solista, compás acelerado, faltan voces, se resta protagonismo a la percusión (timbales) cuando lo tiene en la obra. Mal.

Whoever said LvB could not write for voice never hear of the Mass in C (part of this concert) or the massive and uncomparable Missa Solemnis!

Is something wrong with the building or recording equipment? why so dull?
If you do not like this music...Shame on YOU.....( beauty interpretation )
Something is not right at 3:33... missed a few notes?
Only at 3:33?
If this does not inspire you to have the courage to fight on and not give up / run into a brick wall at full speed I don't don't know what will
The text by R. Becher, is less bombastic/pathetic and, in my opinion, more beautiful.
interpretazione spenta, moscia! A SINGHIOZZO.
If I'd not knew the text I might have some difficulties to understand it. Americans and German language do not go well together.
Who were the pianist and the soloists?
larry4665 All of the performance info is in the description, =].

3:42, Piano is a big mess...
2:07 a small mess
also the first of the solo vocal parts sounded weird because they should have 6 soloists, not just 4.
P
@@pawelkusmierek109 agreed but there is one version with 8 soloists.
I'm sorry but chorale and soloists and pinanist are students? They looks like not professional..

@@StupidGenius2 Thank you
ENCORE!! ENCORE!! HUNDRED TIMES!!!!BRILLANT INDEED!!FROM(U.K.).
I don't approve this interpretation. The piano is way too out of track.
Same. Way too slow near the end. I like Evgeny Kissin's version better (1991). It's on Spotify.
Me quedo con la interpretación de Daniel Baremboim

Too much rubato in the piano.
malisimo pianista
