Have you ever seen anything good come out of a bar. I've been verbally and physically abused by others that drank. Consider going to AA meetings. I was no angel. But my life is so much better now that I don't drink and I choose not to be around anyone who does. Because I was so abused. I pray that you can find the courage to stop drinking. You are courageous just by opening up to the world that you want to stop. I'm 58 now and almost everyone I knew had or still has a drinking problem. My heart goes out to you. I've been in your shoes.
