I remember when I was 17 years old and had just started prime time 7pm to midnite, the PD would HIDE THE FMQB airchecks of radio stations if BUBBA WAS ON THEM!! HAHAHA Once I found out by looking for the month's FMQB aircheck (it was a CD that featured the best new hits to consider adding to particular format and would be a 5 minute station aircheck of how the station sounded! Usually, clips from each show daypart ---but Bubba had the entire aircheck and was ON TOP 40----WHICH WAS INSANE to have Bubba on anything that was NOT ROCK RADIO but absolutely was WORKING! BC HE HAD LARGER SHARES THAN ANYONE on the iconic FLZ in Tampa, Fl(which my roommate in Panama Ciy beach is now the morning host!). ANYWAYS, I LISTEN to this forbidden radio personality and was HOOKED! I would get so excited if he was featured on FMQB....and I never did it on air but he did a bit where he did the Bart Simpson names like PHIL MCCRACKEN! ------WELL my dumbass introduces myself as PHIL MCCRACKEN BACKSTAGE AT PEARL JAM!!....TO KELLY CURTIS...THEIR F'ING BAND MANAGER! HAHAHA Oh God, that story became legendary by record reps bc it was one of the many stories of how fucked up I was backstage------I actually for some reason felt I was the "leader" and we are walking in the back area of the civic center and I see a curtain and go up to it and open it quickly and it was a bunch of chairs! Now, this is my first backstage concert as a super young radio talent and Music Director ! ....so I ask "how much are these beers???" and when they said "free"----I was in disbelief! Absolute Heaven! I became "could careless" about meeting and greeting anyone-----we had free liquor and beer for a short amount of time---so it was 'LOAD UP" when I did not need anything! I actually burped and pot came out talking to Stone Gossard, whom I asked if he wanted to smoke a "spliffy" ----not even sure that is a word

How is it possible we even know who the f Scott Depace, Scott the Engineer or Doug Goodstein are? ONLY Howard could make them interesting in any way. He made stars out of all his crew, most of whom were not interesting at all in their own right (can you imagine Scott hosting his own radio show?) - Howard made them interesting, and we feel like we knew them really well, like members of our family. So when I heard that Ralph passed it was like hearing a 'family' cousin had passed away. And despite what the majority of fans said about him, I always thought he was entertainment and incisive and extremely compelling to listen to. RIP Ralphie cakes! You will be missed.
It's MORE AMAZING that Howard completely SOLD OUT and went WOKE AND IS PROUD TO BE CALLED WOKE!!! AND TREATED ALL THE NAMES YOU MENTIONED LIKE SHIT and acted as though they were NOT REMOTELY IMPORTANT ---which Jackie Martling was ABSOLUTELY RIGHT-----HIM LEAVING was super important bc he wrote everything funny howard ever said or did---(why he wore sunglasses...so during the interviews---did not see what Jackie told him to say!------then you had the PERFECT REPLACEMENT for Jackie and you have the ARTIE ERA----BUT HOWARD will not even MENTION HIM OR TALK TO HIM! what a damn shame! He blew up on a woman who called and told him that she got "ripped off" because she bought a lifetime membership to Sirius when he moved to satellite and how his show has went to ABSOLUTE DOG SHIT! HOWARD SUCKS! EVERYONE KNOWS IT! SIRIUS could terminate about a 1/5 of a BILLION DOLLARS a year ---replace him with JOE ROGAN....and they would get actual new subscribers because of Joe! Howard is washed! Howard is a sell out! Howard probably was always a fraud and fake BECAUSE you do not go from THAT TO WHATEVER THE F HE DOES NOW! I HAVENT LISTENED OTHER THAN when I heard about Ralph or Gilbert or when Beatlejuice made an appearance. But I am sorry...HOWARD SUCKS.
Loved or hated Ralph, he was seriously an amazing person. I was always glued to the radio or the TV when I heard him or knew he’d be making an appearance. My heart breaks for the staff, especially Wilding. Bye for now, friend. Bye for now.
