    Thank you so much for this. I just had a moment where I swore I wasn’t a 9, and that I was a 1. Your guest is literally a copy of me! 9w8 in this season of my life makes so much sense, and I identify with everything your guest said!

    Since you talk about Nines and laziness: Most Nines I know are very active people! They can be spiritually and energetically lazy and have a very unfocused quality (at their unhealth). But they are neither physically lazy nor unproductive. I think that's a big misunderstanding about the nines: that they are physically lazy and couch potatoes.

      Totally agree. I think that is partially due to that "Sloth" is used as a description for the 9s.

    This discussion was so insightful to this 9w8 Sx. When Zach said get out of your box I know exactly what he meant lol. Definitely drawing upon his example to become more of a self actualized me. I will add yeah sometimes we are more blunt than 8s in our delivery because we may not care. A constant question for 9w8 is how much pressure to apply in a situation. Great interview.

    I loved the last part. I thought I was a 9w1 but looking inside more and considering what people were saying to me about myself I realised I'm actually a 9w8. The last part of the video was precious.

    It’s so hard to be a nine. I retook the test like four different times and kept landing on nine. It feels like nines have more work to do. Although there’s no one I’d rather be than me.

      It's weird but as a sp 4 child before I ever knew about enneagram types, I think I met alot of 9s and always wanted to be a 9 because they seem to get along with everyone and as much I tried, I would always go and do what I want even though inside all I wanted was to fit in and be liked by others. Now that I am middle aged, I still admire 9s because they have the everyday values of treating everyone like an equal and not feeling superior to others. As a 4, I work towards just thinking of myself as being a regular person like everyone else and treating others the same with an open mind. SP 4s tend to compare themselves to others and see themselves as being less than so the type 9 values inspire me. All this to say, I admire type 9s alot.

    no matter how much you try, Its so easy to fall back in old pattern, you can try for few weeks, maybe few months.

    Fun story. When I was new to the enneagram I visited a website that outlined a few character traits of every type. I showed that to two relatives who knows me well. One said 9 and the other 8. I was totally confused because they are so different. At the time I didn't know about wings and now, about a year later I sit here (probably) being a 9w8 😄

      He’s definitely an ISXX he’s very neutral between F/T ans P/J if you we’re observing him he would seem like an ISTJ if you were interacting with him he may seem like an ISFP

      What I would to Kaylee’s comment is I tend to be identify as an ISTJ, mostly because I was raised by an ISTJ 1w2. But could lean to ISFJ.

    Hey, just my impression, but the guy in this video comes across like my husband a 6 wing 5. I think the vibe he gives off is too cold for a 9. Another thing that he gives off, is the impression of nervousness and fear, his eyes are a dead giveaway, also typical for my husband as a 6. It is common to misjudge those closest to us. I did that myself with just about evey person in my family so I know!

    • @ZachRuth
      @ZachRuth 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hi Roe, I value any input, being the guy from the video, it is easy to mistype and assume someone being one type but really being another. When I first was introduced to the enneagram, I was convinced I was a 1w9, but in much deeper analysis and investigation, I am certain I am a 9w8. That being said everyone will look different in there types. but 9’s can look like a 6 at times because we go there in our unhealthy moments.

      @@ZachRuth Ok, yes, you have a good point, the questions asked in your interview, just didn't help me distinguish any thing particular to the nine. Since Dr. LaHue is your father in law, you could just ask him to assess you right? He is very good at that! It is so helpful in figuring out how we relate to the world and ourselves, ☺️

    • @ZachRuth
      @ZachRuth 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I could ask Dr. LaHue to asses my type if I wanted him. Dr. LaHue, Kaylee ( who I made the video with) and my wife who also coaches people. All agree I am a 9w8.

    • @roedrei8748
      @roedrei8748 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ZachRuth That sounds good! If you wind up asking him, I would be interested to know if he agrees with his daughters, he makes the Enneagram typing look so easy, but I have been studying it intensely for 2 years and can't even come close to Dr. LaHue.

      @@ZachRuth Are you the Self-preservation, Social, or Sexual 9, that can also makes quite a bit of difference, maybe that is also where the interview is leading me in the direction of the 6.
