    I put my pot of Geraniums in the basement and they are blooming again. I'll let them dry out a little before watering again and I have blooms all winter, just keep the old blooms and dead leaves picked off. This coming spring, I plan to propagate them when I cut them back. I just bought it last summer. I'm in middle Tennessee when it gets down to 0 degree Fahrenheit.

    He’s you work so hard to make your garden look so beautiful. I’d be jealous if I didn’t know how much work you put into it. Enjoy seeing you in your Movies. Love seeing your interactions with family also. Your husband is a hunk.

    Hi Jes! I love to overwinter some of my geraniums too! I don’t use the paperbag method, but I repot them in pots and they do very well! I tough maybe the variegated one, you could pot it and enjoy it as an house plant all winter!!! I am sure you would love to see those flowers in the winter! Just an idea! Also, i am wondering for the ones that have very long stems, i normally trim these when repotting and it helps to make them bushier. Maybe with the paper bag method it is better to trim them in the spring?

    I've heard if you wash the leaves with water that won't allow the frost to burn the leaves.

    Hi Jes I enjoyed your garden again this season...I've been following you for quite a while and I plant with you...changing out a few things and adding here and there...however, I only have one season depending on the weather pattern...Spring/Summer...so I always have lots of blooms all year long...you have Great "Movies" love when you include Nate🙏❤❤

    Hi Jes. I took mine in not overwinter a few weeks ago. This will be my first time doing it but I am hopeful. Isn’t that what gardening is all about? Thank you for the lesson again this year. I’m keeping my fingers crossed they all make it 🤞🏻🙏

    I inherited a dozen or more potted geraniums from my work place this summer. I just unpotted them all the other day and did your method. Fingers crossed I can revive them come spring. 🪴🪴😊😊

    That is a big load to overwinter! What else do you over winter? I am so behind on all my garden tasks this season as I was diagnosed with cancer in July. I took a bunch of cuttings but now have to find the energy to pot them up. We are also moving so I don’t know where my potting pots are! 🤔

    When farmers’ crops experience frost, they run overhead sprinklers to protect them. The harm is when the sun hits the frost; but if it can melt before sunshine, they are often ok. Thankfully, Geraniums are VERY hardy,

    I love your method to over winter these plants. My question is since all leaves eventually will dry up why not carefully cut them off now?

    • @baileycormack2986
      @baileycormack2986 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think the roots use them for moisture while dormant, but i'm guessing

    • @Mina-12128
      @Mina-12128 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      More cuts you make to a plant that is going into dormancy can introduce infection. It's easy and better to let them dry and any leaves that shrivel up can be easily plucked out. No need to cut them.

    • @baileycormack2986
      @baileycormack2986 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Mina-12128 Ok, thanks you. As they dry and such, is that what will possibly cause mold?

    I did my geraniums somewhat like you did but I didn’t put them in bag upside down Is it going to make a big difference. I also stapled the bag shut and they are put away in basement. What should I do.

    • @75212TZ
      @75212TZ 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I stack mine sideways alternating branch and root so I can fit more in a bag ( I use big yard paper bags) and they do just great, I have some huge geraniums that I have been overwintering this way for years.
