Even after watching this I’m still not even sure how it’s played or what the heck everybody is supposed to be doing. Play cards until nobody can play something and then…play some more or lose?
You are basically trying to get items to beat the different omens. After all the major omens have been beaten you will need to beat the curses. If there is a traitor then it's the one with the most cards under it. If there is no traitor you as a group need the items to beat 4 of the curses. As a group you want to try and figure out what items need to be out and used for the curses. If you are the traitor you are trying to line it up for the final curse to be one you guys can't accomplish so you win alone.
I was really excited about this announcement but now that I see the art and design of the cards, I'm disappointed. Think it looks kind of ugly. You used the word "busy" as a descriptor and I agree with you.
What are y’all disappointed about, it’s actually a pretty great quick cooperative/social deduction game. And the design of the cards does not get in the way of gameplay. The character cards are color coordinated, and the images on the item cards (that show the required characters that could use said item cards) are also color coordinated to match each character. So if that’s what’s turning you off from being comfortable to *trying* the game, I urge you to reconsider. Now if you just believe the cards are ugly, I can’t help you there lol. I think they look awesome!
The look is really a personal preference for me. They are just too busy and knowing the people I play with they are going to have issues with it. Also the fact it is a social deduction game, we really don't like those. In my opinion there is no social deduction in the regular game and they billed this as a speed run of Betrayal. Is it faster, sure. But it doesn't feel like Betrayal to us.
@@ossProduction I spent a little time thinking about it, here we go. So mostly I think the theme doesn't scream BETRAYAL. The people who are going to buy this are Betrayal Fans. The short hand of the deck should say Betrayal. This says Book of Souls… so just make it it's own thing. The class of characters is a turn off. I understand the book is the “Omen” but i don't feel like that direction was GREAT. If you made this look Abd feel like regular Betrayal you could still limit what regular human characters use based on “Jenny is intelligent she can use items with this symbol” etc… “Max is might he can use these symbols…” you could be exploring finding items, using those items to defeat small obstacles, unlock an omen handout a secret envelope so you have a traitor and they could try to get a combo of objects to win…

We were excited as well. But like you, we are disappointed in it. Thanks for watching.
Booooo, great review I'm disappointed.

Bad review, didn't get anything... :(
Sorry about that. I tried my best with what I had to work with.
