Thank you, Dorthee! I am just beginning to learn about samplers and love learning this history. My maternal heritage is German and I am eager to learn all that I can about German samplers.

Thank you very much, Dorothee. Putting you initials or mark on work you do is what we all should do on anything we make. Documenting such things is very important to all.

Thank you Dorothee. It is so wonderful to hear the history of samplers from you. The sampler I am currently stitching does not have a K, W, X or Y. Now I know a little more why. Again thank you

Great advice about stitching with colors we like and adding our own initials. We are creating heirlooms. Love the music.

Thank you again Dorothee! What we stitch is left for the generations after us & why be just a copycat - make it your own. ❤

Hallo Dorothee, Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. I am wondering where they would have gotten their motifs from. You say that they collected them, so I am wondering where they would have collected them from. I suppose her mother or grandmother would also have had these samplers and therefore that is where the young girl got them from?

Thank you Dorothee for another informative video! I’ve been enjoying the historical information so much. You are surrounded by beautiful samplers. Could you talk about them in your next video, in particular the one above your left shoulder mounted on red with a gold plaque? Thank you.
