I used the Sikkens Autoclear Performance. Setting for clear we’re fluid all the way open, fan wide open 1.3 tip and 32 psi. Setting for Autowave we’re fluid all the way open fan wide open, 1.4 tip, 25 psi for coverage coats and 22 for orientation.
Is higher pressure recommended for silver or higher metallics for a better blend transition? Thank you just looking for things from someone who’s seems to have mastered this paint.
I use the same pressure for silvers and high metallics. With sata 25 psi for coverage and 22 for orientation coat. Tekna I would spray 22 psi for coverage and 18 for orientation. One thing you can do if your having trouble blending is change your reduction rate. Instead of 30% bump it up to 40.
Coverage about 6 inches or so from panel. Orientation pull back to about 12-14 inches from panel. Try to make sure your metallics look even before you do an orientation coat. You don’t want to try to get rid of moddling with an orientation coat. It can help when there is just a little. But it’s not a fix for moddling. I always make sure it looks good the. Do orientation as an extra insurance and to finish off blend. 👍🏻
you're a great friend!! I put sikkens recently and thanks to your videos I learned to paint aluminum paint perfectly !!! thank you so much
Great to hear! Glad you are enjoying and getting something out of my videos! This is why I make them.
good
How much activator did you put in the base coat?
Dont you let it dry between coats thats what i was told to do.
Fantastic job!!! Pressure for basecoat and pressure for final blending?
I also use Sikkens Autowave, what does your “wet bed” contain? 666 and activator? 1:1?
80% 666 20% activator.
Which clearcoat used?setting of your sata 5000 for clearcoat and autowave? Thanks 🙏🏼

Thank you for your help, what about distance for blending silvers and orientation?
