It was a really neat version. They actually gave it out in that 1988 magazine as a freebie specifically in promotion of Vanishing Vision which featured the first well-known recording.
+TadakatsuH0nda I saw a few videos of them performing this version in 1988/89, I always thought it was just a version they were trying out before the final version that ended up on Blue Blood. That free edition must be a very rare item nowadays.

DesPaul'sGastronomicalAdventurues that’s partially true. Or they may also join the 80’s hairmetal bandwagon and sell out like most of those wanna-be rockers. I love the 80s hair metal but there were just too many of them and the quality of music took a nosedive and they were bound to fail at some point and that they did.
Maybe, but american bands back in the late 80s and early 90s had a disadvantage world wide as their music weren't really widespread on south america and most of asia, where european bands and groups were more widespread, god only knows why. Like, in Brazil, Queen is probably the most well known band from "outside", from america only Michael Jackson rivalized in popularity I think

Now you're running into the storm
Can't you see I'm always on your mind
Tell me why you leave me alone
My heart has been gonna dye deep red with all of pain
There's no one to cure my pain, only without you
How I try to shout, how I try to run
There's nothing I can do
The wall hiding my heart is never broken again
How I try to break

Yeah it's fairly pricey for just one song, like 50 USD, versus a price of like 10 dollars for any other vinyl from the magazine.

According to a magazine interview by YOSHIKI and Sony producer Naoshi Tsuda, when "X JAPAN" signed a contract with Sony and made a major debut, the sound of the debut album was "recorded by consciously scraping the edge of the sound".
The reason is that when they make their major debut, not only HM / HR fans who are accustomed to intense sounds like in the indie era, but also general listeners who are not usually familiar with HM / HR will hear the sound of "X JAPAN" on the radio and TV more often.
At that time, it is said that consideration was given to prevent general listeners from rejecting intense performances. It was a method for "X JAPAN" to acquire a new fan base.
