This is based on the only Pulitzer Prize (correction: Nobel Prize) winning work of Sci Fi ever, Aniara. It's a Swedish poem about one of the last ships to escape a dieing Earth. The ship gets hit by an asteroid, and is knocked off course into deep space. Brilliant Idea, fantastic song.
THIS IS A FUCKING MASTERPIECE ! Not a single part that's not epic, touching, powerful, meaningful, and Tommy's voice, and the guitar riffs, the instrumentals, just BREATHTAKING !! Listening to it on repeat, it takes so much time but fuck it, it's just so fucking amazing ♥
The great thing of this song is that it is a long, epic prog song that does not overwhelm the listener. It showcases virtuosity but in a tasteful way that does not leave you dazed by the virtuosity itself, rather by the songwriting that is happening here. A great song.
I just discovered this band today and bought this album based only on Wiseman and the first five minutes of this song. Somehow I don't see myself being disappointed.
Everyone is hating on yall just cuz they dont had the mental compacity to pull something like this off. You guys do its great clear lyrics with amazing melody and is still very harmonic. The switch ups dont take away from eachother but add to the previous and lead to the next section. Great job keep it up.
Beautiful. Masterfully composed and arranged. Not a second out of place. Up there with the best ever epics. These compositions are not easy - quedos for putting the effort in SW
Many are complaining about sharing songs on youtube. I'm not gonna say that I hope noone are content with crappy 480p quality, but will actually discover the band and buy their records. I can peronally recommend all three from Waiting in the Wings up until The Great Escape. Mercy Falls and TGE are both masterpieces, not a single bad/boring song there. Stellar vocals/v harmonies, arrangement, bass, and drumming, and great guitars and keyboards too!
Agreed. I found SW on TH-cam, and have listened to them a lot here at TH-cam, but still I just bought "Mercy Falls" and will probably buy the Great Escape as well.
I absolutely love the intro (...and the world wept.) The vocals are just so clean and chilling. I know it's definitely not the most 'exciting' part of this song... but it's certainly what hooked me in to be honest.
I need to hear this every day btw he's good in Kamelot there old singer Roy was amazing in their early years but wanted a break so Tommy is awesom at doing both bands

Just wanted to give an update to everyone that said "y u no link to SW store?!?!" Well, CD Baby, the owner of the distribution rights to this CD, got ahold of my song here, and instead of taking it down, simply put an add under the likes/dislikes bar. So yeah, now I'm helping promote the band. You're all welcome :)
it's actually got somewhat of an 80's sound to it. and this is the ONLY power metal band that I will accept that from, just because I fucking love tommy in kamelot. honestly, i'd probably enjoy it from other bands too, if I gave them a chance. the only reason I gave these guys a chance is, like I said, tommy.
tommy in kamelot is very average, but his work in seventh wonder is literally some of the best vocal work i've heard in metal. Incredible power, incredible vocal range, great emotion. Also the instrumental work in Seventh Wonder is miles ahead of kamelot, its not often a prog metal band comes along that does more than just rip off Dream Theatre.
I didn't mean the bass guitar as such, just all the bottom end from the audio drops out dramatically. Sounds odd, I haven't really come across that happening during songs before.
Incredible songwriting, incredible voice, great guitars and bass, cool keyboard (playing) though i´d appreciate more sound-architecture and better piano samples :-)
Dear Poster, if you really think this song is that awesome, just post snippets of it and link to the SW CD shop instead. If the guys would have wanted this track to be on youtube, they would have posted it themselves, like the did with "Alley Cat".
Holy fucking fuck. these guys deserve attention? Well posting something on youtube ensures that over 300000000 people can find this, listen and get to know the band. That's pretty good attention to me. And see, it has 12k views already. people can come here to check this band out and if they like what they hear they can maybe make the decision to buy the song themselves.
First time listening: Meh, bad song, 30 minutes should be a million times better. Second-Fourth time: Yeah, it happens to be the next song in my playlist. Fifth time: Felt like putting up this song. Sixth, Seventh, Eighth, etc time: It's getting better and better. Fifteenth time: Fuck yeah this is the best song ever.

Damn! Finally a band with a singer that doesn't sound like a copy of Russell Allen and emphasizes on melodies and clean vocals! Loving this track!
Yeah this song grows on you, gets better and better.
This song is a true masterpiece. Great singer, great music.
How do you ever listen to normal music after this
It's Magical, Heavens, it's metal, it's heavy, and it's fucking MASTERPIECE!..
This song is a true masterpiece. Definitely one of the saddest songs I've ever listened to all my life as well.
The bass solo is so awesome... And the guitar solo. and the keyboard solo. And all!!!!
this song still gives me 30 minutes of pure bliss. it makes every car drive 1 minute long
"God and Satan hand in hand
Through the badland
Took a flight uphill and down from man
A king with ashen crown"
--> 22:35
This part is so good!!! :)
An absolute masterpiece from start to finish. I have completely fallen in love with this song. So much variation and beautiful melodies.
The great thing of this song is that it is a long, epic prog song that does not overwhelm the listener. It showcases virtuosity but in a tasteful way that does not leave you dazed by the virtuosity itself, rather by the songwriting that is happening here. A great song.

This song is actually Epic, I don't say that about many songs but this....Wow.
Simply a masterpiece. A wonderful, breathtaking track. It alternates touching melodies with power solos and riffs. Long live to SW.

I want listen to this song more than 48 times per day
Leaving home just some of the best music ive heard. the synthesizer really nails it
I was listening to this and in the minute 17 or so I just said to myself, like a sudden realization: "This is so good. Genius in there".

So true! Seventh wonder shives me all the time!
24:55 "weeee CROOOOOOOWN THE SKIIIIIIES WITH OUR TIAAAAARAAAAA"
That's utterly epic. O_O
Amazing, absolutely amazing. The story is woven so elegantly that it gives me chills with every listen.
the longest and the most amazing song I have ever listened to
I love them sooooo much!!! I want a concert in Portugal!!!
This song touches my soul :-)
WONDERFUL, but sad, too!!
Agreed. I found SW on TH-cam, and have listened to them a lot here at TH-cam, but still I just bought "Mercy Falls" and will probably buy the Great Escape as well.
In one Word: WOW...more please 🎶
best 30 mins of my life
I just ordered the CD yesterday after hearing the song here.
Thank you for putting this back up. SEVENTH WONDER!!!

Amazing. Tommy in the first part of the song is totally amazing.

Holy damn, not only it's so long, but so beautiful too!
Just wanted to give an update to everyone that said "y u no link to SW store?!?!"

I also think its great. It tells such a beautiful and sad story!
Woo! Epic piece, love it. I particularly love his Sister's part around 22:00. Anyone else notice that all the bass just vanishes at 22:53?
yes, it is all one song, but there are 13 parts total to this song in the 30 minutes.
stop pluggin' DT, we are on Seventh Wonder PAGE!
That's cool trivia to know dude. I was wondering how they came up with such a complex story line.
TWENTY YEARS TODAY!!!
Who the fuck could dislike an epic song like this !!!
he is a justin bieber fan for sure
Yeah, these are the moments I wish for a preview function.
Parts 2 (2:56), 9 (18:16), and 11 (20:17) are easily my favorite
Hey man both band are amazing!
My first time listening to seventh wonder.
WHERE THE FUCK HAVE I BEEN??!!

You need to hit enter twice for something to go to a new line.
Greatest song ever created
I agree :)
damn this song is carzy perfect....more perfect than progresive band songs ever....
Beautiful!!!
Oh how original!
I swear Justin Bieber "haters" comment about him more than his actual fans do, it's ridiculous.
the piano at 23:00 is great. i love. this whole. song. all of it.
@tnad5212 You should link to the shop though. Any little thing helps.
I didn't mean the bass guitar as such, just all the bottom end from the audio drops out dramatically. Sounds odd, I haven't really come across that happening during songs before.
O like pink floyd; marilion; pendragon; symphony x; riverside... But these guys are top. Just amazing.
un mots pour décrire cette chanson '' MASTERPIECE ''
I wasn't quite sure, until I heard tommy start singing. my god, and I thought he was good in Kamelot.
I know that feeling xD
for pledges and bonds our sistem of suns !!! i love that part
Better yet, Transatlantic's The Whirlwind. 78 minutes of joy.
lol everyone's gettin mad. Meanwhile above me :) Righteousness.
Incredible songwriting, incredible voice, great guitars and bass, cool keyboard (playing) though i´d appreciate more sound-architecture and better piano samples :-)
The wiki about the swedish poem in which song was inspired: search for Aniara
Life is too short.

Well, the bass normally plays the low end. But if you play harmonies with the guitar one octave higher up un the neck, you woun't hear any low end...
30:22 minutes well spent for my life \m/
Hey, you forgot about 0:00 \o/ (listen to it all over again)

Bacon 1:34 to :38?

no, it just goes up some octave, plays some unison or harmony with the guitar :)
24:56 My favorite part in a song full of amazing.
@HommbreGiaca Totally Agree!!
New amazing prog band Time Grid on youtube!!!!
Damned, this is just perfect
@hirschsuppe11 welcome to the internet =)
You should check out Six Degree of Inner Turbulence by Dream Theater 42 minutes of pure epicness!
Opening actually reminds me of Border of Life from Touhou 7 Perfect Cherry Blossom
@yishto Pretty sure people can find it on their own.
Be gone, I believe.
