Great job! Probably too high yield... until last year I was focused on high yield... since the beginning of the year I switched on dividend Growth investing! Obvious, it depends on the age. I'm 27

I also like Chevron and am looking at buying more shares on Monday to lower my cost per share. I'm currently down 6.5% with them but I'm not worried because I also believe we'll be reliant on oil for a long time and I plan on holding them for the long term.
Only energy stock I own is EXC. it’s an electric and natural gas company. All other exposures for oil, gas, and energy is in my SCHD, DGRO, and VOO positions.
Haha I know what you mean. Sometimes I'll listen to those lo-fi music or jazz videos here on TH-cam while I'm working, and as a result all my recommendations are just those videos now
I actually wrote about this not too long ago. Here's the article if you want to check it out: www.retirewithryne.com/newsletter/why-i-avoid-covered-call-etfs
Energy is the only sector I have exposure strictly through ETFs such as SPLG and SCHD. I don't own any individual companies at this time. I like CVX and agree with you that oil & gas are deeply ingrained in our economy. It's not going away anytime soon. Right now I am adding to other positions I have when I get paid.
Ryne, what do you think of getting positioned with Kroger right now thru Jan when it looks like it may turn around. The dividend yield looks good and 13 consistent years of growth.
Haven't really bought anything in Aug. If we don't see the usual drop off in Sept, I will start DCA into a few holdings to get them to the share amount I wanted for year by Dec.
Very good analysis!!! CVX looking interesting. With the new electric cars, tools and AI trend for the future, any companies on the Electricity Field that it’s at a good valuation right now?
It's funny you should mention AGCO-they've popped up on my radar, alongside CF Industries, which makes fertilizers. But Visa and ADC are still the ones I'm lightly buying! And yes, as you mentioned NKE as well...
Poor Ryne, I don't think you'll ever get your buy in opportunity with ROL, never a hiccup. What's your feelings on MAIN, OBDC and to a lesser extent V now that rates will going down significantly over the next 6 months? I have both MAIN and V.
Man I know. I'm still staying patient with it though...anything's possible. I still feel good about holding the BDC's. We may see lower special dividends from them once interest rates go down, but I still think they'll be great dividend payers
@@rynewilliams Not necessarily, but heard not good builders. I don’t have anything to confirm that though, but doesn’t mean their stock isn’t a good one to invest in.
Good morning Ryan. Hope you had a nice weekend and Sunday is going well. Funny, I was looking at CVX yesterday trying to decide if it’s something to add on to. I have also been putting on a trade in Google. I feel like the DOJ helps discount them currently with the threat of break up. I figure no matter the outcome there’s value there.
Back at you my friend! You'll have to keep me posted if you end up adding to CVX. I've been looking around at my various holdings, and CVX seems to be one of the better valued options right now. Also, I'm with you on Google. There's absolutely value there
@@rynewilliams I may sell some Exxon that I want to get the gains this year in case any tax changes next year and move it to Chevron was part of the motivation as well. I also like the higher dividend (always stupidly chasing yield).

Out of those three def gotta pick CVX. Cashflow and dividend machine.
Just passed 21k in my portfolio and 1300 in yearly dividends. Thursday was my two year anniversary in dividend investing.
Heck yea, that’s fantastic! Great job my friend 👏

I got into CVX earlier this month. Got 4 shares so far. If it’s stays below 145, I’d buy more.
Nice!
22 years old invest around 50$+ 86$ drip the monthly dividend incom
Currently buy more dgro
Have 101 schd and 25 dgro

I have some more ofc but prefer to buy etfs now

Don't forget about kRC ryne, I picked some up this week, it could do well
With the rate cuts
True that! I could see it getting up over $40 when the rate cuts start
Hey Ryne great video, I have 25 shares of CVX and planning to add 25 more very soon, but I would like to know your thoughts about MO?
I'm personally holding strong with MO. I personally wouldn't buy it at current prices though
Thank you , have these saved on my watchlist
Is there a difference between capital gains on a BDC stock? Vs Capital gains on a stock like TSLA- Are they taxed the same?
No difference. Capital gains from share price appreciation are taxed the same. Dividend income has some variance in how it is taxed though
@@rynewilliams Thank You! Ive must of asked a dozen or so and nobody would answer me back!
