Thanks Dave for the comment Unfortunately Seletar Airport in Singapore has an ILS to Runway 21, however it extends into Malaysia airspace. Due to political issues, the ILS has never been activated so Seletar only has visual approaches available Makes things really fun flying into a tropical destination with seasonal heavy rains 😂
Thank you! Credit, as always, must go to the aircraft designers. The landing gear design makes our life a lot easier when it comes to smooth landings Thanks for the comment
thank you for sharing this. We hardly get to see this view. Surprised to see the amt of adjustments you need to make on during the landing. So stressful !
You’re very welcome. The Flight Guidance we view through the Head Up Display is very sensitive so those adjustments you see are generally very minor corrections If you have any questions with what you see please feel free to pass them on and I’ll do my best to explain Thanks for reaching out
Thank you so much so cool i love aviation from usa that was a very good landing and shows no matter how big the airplane you still have to work for it.I really like when you dont edit these fine films so that you feel like your along for the ride lol.For you to pilot the 650 and the global 6000 you have proven yourself and have many interesting stories to tell please do.
Thanks very much for your question Our ramp for todays arrival was to the right after landing, however in this direction the runway only has a full length exit to the left The tower basically just gave us instructions to back track. I’m guessing if there was other traffic we’d have exited left at the end of the runway and then proceeded as instructed to cross for the ramp further back up the runway Hope this helps
@ Nathan Elcoate I think we had about 10kts crosswind from the right but it was a bit bumpy. Sometimes we appear to over control but that’s due to the sensitivity of the HUD guidance In saying that, the Gulfstream is a very forgiving aircraft on touchdown 😊
Hi Rachel. Thanks for the feedback. It’s very much appreciated I’m currently looking at options for an over-the-shoulder camera in order to try and capture the HUD image Thanks again for the feedback 🙏
Was it really that windy approaching? I’m an aerospace engineer for 33 years but don’t fly, can’t fly, barely can drive really lol, but i am just curious.
@JUSTENization thanks for the question It wasn’t too gusty on this day. I am making many small corrections with the yoke due to the sensitivity of the Flight Director displayed in the HUD. The HUD is an amazing tool and greatly helps with precision flying What kind of Aerospace Engineering are you involved in?
@@Skylineschannel thanks. Love that 650. Am mostly work on engine build up design layout (EBU), engines plumbing more or less, last project was C-Series, okay A220 lol, then Falcon 10x, proudly did re-engining C-5M and JSTARS out of Collins Aerospace in San Diego (former Rohr Industries). During mid 1990s i was at Bell for the wingbox design, then headed up to Wichita for the 777x original, 737NG, mostly control surfaces design and empennage and tailskid…. I could have learned to fly while in Wichita.
That’s Brilliant!! Flew the Global 6000 before coming back onto the 650 so some aspects of the C-Series were very familiar (she’ll always be the C-Series to me!) Sounds like you have a very interesting career across a lot of different airframes. Hope you have been able to share the lessons you’ve learnt over your years with the next generation
Thanks for the question Yes, absolutely. The HUD can project flight information but can also project an Infrared image that is very useful in inclement weather and at night Another piece of information about the HUD, the flight director projection is very sensitive, which is why we look like we are making a lot of control inputs, particularly on short final
@@Skylineschannel many thanks for the insight.how far can you see with the HUD,given sometimes asean region covered in rain and lightning.nice landing at seletar airport anyway.cheers
You’re very welcome Generally with the Infrared you can see about 8 miles but it depends on the air along the line of sight. Rain, Mist or haze visibility may reduce down to 3-4 mile or less depending on the severity It can’t penetrate cloud so no visibility there unfortunately
Not only a beautiful landing, but looked like it was hand-flown down the entire ILS. Great to see those skills!
Thanks Dave for the comment

buttery smooth landing capt! Like silk slipping off a body.. Great job!
You landed like you never took off. ZERO camera shutter. Excellently done.

So happy I found your channel! Love the Content! Keep them coming! Thank You!
Thanks Ahmad for the support. It’s nice to be able to share with you what we are so very lucky to experience
Beautiful weather for flying. Just love it.
@Beagle76 yeah it was a lovely day! That view over Southern Malaysia never gets old
Pasir Gudang, Johor, MY, quite beautiful. Nice & smooth landing BTW. Supercool
@Robi KR I’ve never had the chance to visit but Johor does look beautiful coming in to Seletar. Maybe get to visit one day

When the jet tilt…my head tilted too 😂😅
Thank you for the comment! I hope your enjoying the videos
Thanks for sharing. Beautiful landing!
Many thanks 🙏
Love the video, just wondering why you turned around on the runway. Was there no other way to make it to the ramp?
Thanks very much for your question

Fought it all the way then greased it. Love it.

Great landing!
Thank you! The designers did a great job making the aircraft very nice to land
Too bad we can't see the heads up display.

quick question.does the hud helps with poor weather landings?
Thanks for the question

Do you own this jet?
No I’m just employed to fly it
Sick video!
Cheers Drew WCM! Is that a cub in your profile photo? Piper cub is my dream plane to fly…one day
Got my ppl at Seletar
Congratulations! Sometimes our operations mix with the Flight Training at Seleter
Did you continue flying after your PPL?
@@Skylineschannel thanks for your patience. Yes, I joined the airforce
Fantastic! Did you continue flying in the airforce?
Is that a fking moon roof😲??
Haha nooooo! We stow the sun shades above our heads. Good pick up though 👍
