These tutorials are absolutely phenomenal!!! SO incredibly easy to follow, straightforward, and helpful. Just used this and another video to replace a broken LCD screen inside my sister's Dell Studio 1535.
Yes it is possible, however; you want to make sure you match the screen with the correct LCD cable and bezel, which can be tricky. You will also need a converter instead of an inverter if you are going to a LED screen.
This laptop has multiple different screens, cables, and back assemblies. If you were replacing the screen and you installed one with a lower resolution, that would explain that. But the wifi cables being on a different side doesn't make sense, unless the back you received was for a different model. All of the 1535 back should have the same wire setup regardless of screen type.
The sizes are the same but these models can use multiple types of screens like CCFL and LED styles. So the screen may fit but the cable and rails might be different.
I want to thank you for this video because my LCD screen is broken. My problem is how do I confirm 1) the screen size? I have a Dell Studio 1535 and 2) do I need the entire cover with the LCD in it to replace it?
How do I replace the LCD cable? I have same problem, I took the LCD apart. I also have grey screen sometimes, I can notice the WiFi cables have the isolation bad, maybe its a short.
Hello dellpartspeople I have a question, When I position my Dell Studio a certain way the screen's backlight goes off, what are some common causes of this?
Everything went great, but now my screen resolution won't go higher than 1280:800 and the internet isn't working right. The new cover had the wires on different sides so the wireless card might be plugged in wrong, but I don't know what would affect screen resolution.
It's going to be a 15.4 inch screen and the part number can be found on the back of the screen. Here is a video showing how to disassemble the screen. watch?v=nOho11vRUmU
I want to try this myself but I'm too scared to. My screen just died and I'm sure it's because of a loose connection (it has been flickering when moved to a certain position on and off for about 2 years now, but finally tonight it gave up!) :(

I replaced the LCD cable and that was the problem. As soon as I took the cable off I saw where the problem was. Thanks man that really helped.

First try re-seating all of the cable connections. If that doesn't work you might have to try a different screen.
Sound like it could be a LCD cable issue. You might try to reseat or replace the LCD cable.
Thank you so much for this video ! I replaced my back cover + bezel yesterday and everything went great !

You might try to re seat your RAM and and maybe even your CPU to see if that would solve the problem.
Thank you so much! Made the job of replacing the top cover real easy. :)
Great tutorial. Just did the replacement and everything is looking great.
Thanks a lot guys!

Hello, everything went great, but now my screen has a huge vertical line going down the right side of the scree. What do I do?
