Idk who he was sleeping with but it goes to show it's who you know! Gee it would have been nice if he would've also thanked the actual Miami vice police force that provided training and his fellow cast and crew! What a douche!
You need to understand the context. The main characters were dismissing anybody with authority, and would roll their eyes. So when Olmos took over for the original actor playing the lieutenant, Olmos, a very warm person, had to play cold as ice. He did not even look at Don.Johnson and the other guy for ten episodes. Because that was the only way he could get their respect. It was brilliant. Instead of a flat, stereotypical cop boss, he created a natural conflict in the show, thereby making the dialogue richer. Don johnson hated him and tried to get Olmos fired on the first day, But the producers knew his value and let him challenge the prima donna star. Johnson was probably baffled that Olmos won the Golden globe.
