  • Customer states and mechanical problems in one digestible video for you to enjoy!
    In todays episode a customer attempts some off-roading that doesn't end too well, some brakes rotors so worn they are paper thin and many other mechanical nightmares!

    Video descriptions:
    0:00 Intro
    0:04 This must sound and feel great when going over bumps
    0:23 They drove 20 miles to get to the shop on this
    0:27 I bet there's a different story behind this one the customer isn't telling
    0:46 And wouldn't you know the customer declined all repairs
    0:56 Anyone missing a 5/16ths socket?
    1:03 Vehicle initially came in for a misfire and the mechanic had to dive deep to find out why
    1:18 The right front ball joint was destroyed and had to be replaced
    1:29 Homemade 2 piece rotors if I've ever seen them
    1:42 This is going to cost a lot to replace all of the contaminated parts
    1:59 Yup that's some bad rod knock they have
    2:11 Just Fiat things, this may be an aftermarket part however
    2:29 Looks like they hit a bit more than just a curb
    2:33 Pretty poor 'fix' for the recall when that rust coating probably wore off after on a year or two
    2:47 Guess they did the oil but not the filter... for the last 10 oil changes
    2:51 Frustrating issue as it took the mechanics a while to figure it out
    3:28 Likely a badly cracked head
    3:38 Outro

    They continued to drive on that wheel because they were somewhere they shouldn't ought to be, and were probably drunk at the time.

      The earlier V6 Saturns that had the Honda engines (instead of GM engines) were pretty great engines. And the 4 bangers aren’t bad either.

    I'm pretty sure that the 5/16" socket is mine. There is some kind of space/time portal in my driveway that causes 5/16" and 8mm sockets to disappear; sometimes they reappear after 10-20 minutes in a different location. So if you see any Craftsman, Blue Point, or Proto, 5/16” 8mm sockets in an odd place they are mine, please send them to me.

    So what was the cause of the coolant leak? Or did the mechanic "fix" it by telling the customer not to park on an incline?

      I once had a flat tire on the front passenger side. Didn't notice it at all until a cyclist pointed it out to me. The car didn't feel or sound funny. As I was driving in a city I didn't drive faster than 50 km/h.

    • @nuclearmedicineman6270
      @nuclearmedicineman6270 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I did that once. In my defense; it wasn't my car, it was front wheel drive, the flat was in the rear, it was station wagon with a really light rear end, and there was 4 inches of snow on the ground. "Can you pop in the store real quick? Take my car, yours is blocked." I got back, saw the flat, and just as I was changing the tire, the neighbor walked by.. "Oh, I was going to mention earlier you had a flat tire." Couldn't feel a thing when driving.

      @@ARockyRock Sway bars only control body roll that's it. They can help in emergency maneuvers by controlling weight distribution. However most people will not even notice a difference in everyday driving at all. Most cars have small swaybars that rally are useless only in the front. Vehicles that are meant to handle or one that are taller such as trucks dn van tend to have front and rear swaybars to help with at body lean. But in all reality they do very little until you get to extream driving.

    How did a socket end up getting jammed through a tire ?!
    1:45 - Hydraulic fluid ... it would work perfectly fine as brake fluid if it was the correct viscosity.

    • @dave161141
      @dave161141 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Rather dont mix them, as the rubber seals might not survive that.

    • @lotharrenz4621
      @lotharrenz4621 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I wouldn't recommend either. brake fluid is a mix of alcohole-based glycoles, it has nothing to do with hydraulic fluid be it based on mineral oils or whatever. neither seals nor hoses are made for mineral oils and will quell up like yeast dough.
      the other way around brake fluid can't replace hydraulic fluids as the sealings and hoses will become brittle or quell up, too. please don't experiment here.

      some engines use rollers instead of tappets for the valvetrain, it allows harsher cam lift without as much friction, but obviously since it's another moving part, its a little less reliable, i assume on that roller the bearing seized and it wont spin now.
