Wow Brett, loving the tips and techniques you are explaining and demonstrating. Appreciate that you show us how to edit to improve our images rather than just giving us a formula to follow.
I didn’t even know about intersecting on the mask tool, what a great tip that will be. Loving these editing videos, short & sweet & very easy to follow. Thanks Brett excellent work!👍😊
Thanks for this video, Brett. I notice when you selected the sky it bled a little into the top of the mountain. When I am faced with this I use a brush to clean up the selection. Yet your photo came our very pleasing without any of that clean up stuff. I'm curious if Adobe has purposely made these masks a little less than perfect selection in order to blend in adjustments.
Richard hi mate, Thanks for the comment. The bleeding was just a rough selection really. Not that big a deal & you could clean it up with subtracting from the mask & I would if I were editing for a print or portfolio image.
Great video and tips! Wish more photographers would understand the difference between editing for lit pixel on a screen and editing for a dynamic looking print. In the old days a Photographic lab used darkroom skills but now it often falls back on the photographer to get the shadow details right for print. Do you cover this particular topic in any of your videos?
@@BrettWoodPhoto Great! -We find that there is an over reliance on screen compared to "numbers" that works for shadow detail especially so when final prints are not adequately lit or the texture of the paper "eats" some light.

Cheers for that,
Something I might look at in the future.
@@BrettWoodPhoto It could go under the topic "why did my image print too dark" 😀
I teach this editing on my south coast “shoot to print” workshop
