No tender, can't buy it. How are you supposed to explore islands, rivers and estuaries and go ashore without a tender? Really short-sighted by Azimut. If this is supposed to be a "weekender" then you need to be able to go ashore from the river to explore the shoreline or visit the city venues and come back to your Verve hotel room. Likewise there are often long shallows with seagrass to get to an island. This means you need to anchor your boat 500 to 1,000 metres out and use a jetski tender to go ashore. Azimut could quite easily have included a dinghy or jet tender like Pardo either inside a side gunnel, rear tender or vertical garage like Pardo and De Antonio 40. Azimut should get to know their global customers. There is no downside for including a jet tender, but there is big downside for not doing it. Come on Azimut, get the basics right. Speak to your potential customers before you make such basic boating experience mistakes. By the way, the kitchen on the Verve 47 has to be the best kitchen I have ever seen. Otherwise fantastic boat.
The overall design is both beautiful and functional. (The comments below, are from personal experience with a vessel used 95% on the intercostal waterways of SE Florida.) There’s a few MAJOR issues with this weekender. The first and most critical; is the “forward view” from the helm. Because of the hard top, while under plane, you cannot safely see forward past the bow. Unless trimmed unusually bow down, you can’t see anything, even with your head pressed sideways onto the ceiling of the helm station. So good luck trying to keep the bow up a bit high for choppy waters. The other, is the extremely poor build and trim quality. The “stainless steel” components rust from the unfinished sides and weld joints. No amount of cleaning and rinsing maintenance can prevent this. It’s constant compounding and waxing to keep the rust trails off the hull. All of the “beautiful” chrome/stainless covers on the hatch hinges are attached by caulk and will all come off. So have fun trying to find a glue that will be strong enough to stand up to maintenance but temporary enough to remove for access to screws/bolts. Go out on the open waters and hit anything but light chop and your cabinet and door hinges will fail. They are home quality hardware not marine grade. The compartments located in the floor of the salon don’t have hinges or latches. They are just tapered edge covers, that will pop up and down unless you put something on top, while under way. There’s also a few nagging leaks into the interior compartment from the above decks and joints. Some of the drain hole locations are actually “upstream” from the lowest points of the areas intended to drain. There are panels screwed down over some of the drainage inlets, so you can’t maintain them and keep them free from dirt and debris. The gelcoat covered in spiderweb cracks, throughout. The “clear” acrylic drink holders are permanently attached (screwed in) and have yellowed in about 1 year. They are also a nightmare to clean, since you can barely get a cloth between the two layer design. They are also in locations that almost all guest passengers want to sit. They should be modular, at least. I could go for another few pages of comments, but I’ll finish with these two… These boats are not the high end quality that you expect from the Azimut name. And, even if you love constant and preventable repairs, there’s a ridiculous lead time for any parts. I love looking at this boat. It’s gorgeous. But, I’m very happy they discontinued this model. I wouldn’t recommend this to any experienced boater.
