    I'm thinking that also giving it a shake before you put the ice in will help the sugar dissolve.

    What happens with the seeds when you smash it? Do they stay contained in the lemon or float around?

      Thanks for the great question! We get our flavors primarily from a company called Finest Call. They make many flavors that are used in alcoholic drinks, but can be used for other drinks such as lemonade because the flavors do not contain alcohol themselves and they are shelf stable, which means they do not require refrigeration before they are opened. Here is the link to their website, I am not sure if they ship to Africa, but if you contact them, they may be able to help you find a supplier in your area: www.finestcall.com/products/
      I hope this helps!

      This was one of our first events and it was a small community garage sale....not a fair or large event.

      I think his prices are Competitive & Acceptable no matter if a garage sale event or a larger venue place, I much rather pay his $2 price for a 32OZ regular lemonade any day than paying $4 or $5

    I just purchased a smasher and I wanted to know what other things I need to get started including licensing

    • @izzyslemonaid2382
      @izzyslemonaid2382  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Great question! Licensing totally depends on the state you live and will work in, so check with your state laws and local health department in those. As far as other equipment goes, its really up to you. You can go as BIG or as small of a setup as you like. Here are the basics of what you need to make a lemonade:
      1. SMASHER
      2. Granulated Sugar
      3. Lemons 🍋
      4. Clean Water
      5. Clean Ice
      6. Shaker Cups (to mix wverything)
      7. Serving Cups (32 oz)
      8. Air compressor or CO2 Tank to power the smasher
      9. Everything else is up to you! Lids, straws. Flavorings, cash register, canopy tent, the tables you use. Cash register, etc. You can cut the lemons by hand. Or use a slucer/wedger luke we do ( www.webstaurantstore.com/nemco-55550-8-8-section-easy-wedger-wedgemaster-fruit-vegetable-wedge-cutter/591N555508.html ). Just keep in mind that slicing by hand, may add the need for other guidelines and restrictions from your local health department.
      Hope this helps! If you need any further assistance, please feel free to get a hold of us!

    As a business owner and if I was a customer I wouldn't want to drink that if I saw the water come out of a spicket in front of me....
    If you already got sugar water made up on the side that's a different thing.

      The smasher in the video was made locally for us using my plans. I gave it to a machinist who made nit for me. If you're looking for what we use now (tg his one is our backup) we use smashers from thisnguy: lemonadevending.com/

    How much is a permit to sell lemonade?

    • @izzyslemonaid2382
      @izzyslemonaid2382  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on your state, city county, etc. For us in Kalamazoo, Michigan, a temporary food license is usually around $100. But there are other licenses available such as a STFU license, which is more cost up front, but cheaper if you're doing multiple events.
