Needed a short and clear explanation/example, thank you 🙏
Keep looking :D
This is not it if doesn't talk about the tongue positions.
Some people claim that "x" is close to "sh" but it seems much closer to "s"
Indeed. An S but with your tongue pressed against the lower teeth.
its kind of an inbetween, no one says sie sie (xiexie) but they dont say shieshie either, it's basically inbetween s and sh
I needed a tune-up on my pronunciation and this clear and concise explanation was helpful. I finally understood that single letters, j,q,x are wide mouth and zh, ch, sh are puckered. 谢谢你的帮助!
Wow this is amazing. I’ve been playing around with pinyin (as a starting point for maybe learning to speak Mandarin eventually) but was never clear about what made each of these pairs different. The fact that they are from two different categories of shaping the lips is so cool. Thank you so much!
THANK YOU I AM SOBBING. I have been struggling so hard with those three on the right and was making it overly complicated by forcing my tongue in unnatural positions but this was so simple
Im sobbing too and farting.
Thank you so much for teaching, so much knowledge in such a short video. Please continue teaching.
Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you so much ❤
As a beginner I was having so much trouble with these sounds until I found this video. Great work!
Thank you a lot! been thinking that I needed a video explaining these differences and algorithm just showed me your video.
when it has a h after the letter, its a "closed mounth" sound
Zh is like french Je or slow dragging G sound Gggg without sounding the vowel at the end only the consonant sound.
Thank you 🙏😊
Thank teacher so much
J, Q,X lips are narrow and stretched wide.
Zh, Ch, Sh lips are rounded and jutted out
NEITHER of these are lip positions used in English!
Tongue Position: j, q, x tongue is flat down and tip is touching the back of the base of the front lower teeth.
zh, ch, sh tongue point up inside the mouth toward the roof just behind the alveolar ridge but forward, before the palatte
NEITHER of these are natural tongue positions in English!
Ah, between the video and your comment, that answers the question completely. Thanks!
@@JB52520 No it doesn't :D The position of the lips is irrelevant. It's the tongue.

شكرا لك❤❤❤❤
thanks a lot for clear explanation
Thanks
That was mindblowing! Thank you
thank you so much !
Qi and qu. Why q-sound is different?
I don’t why make you feel they are different, but they’re the same
Thank you so much!
OMG, learning for 3w now. Get J, Q and X was so hard. In my pinyin cheat sheet they were described as the same (to zh, ch, sh) ... but this is the key. Now I get it
This is great!!!&
how do you pronounce words that doesn't require you to widen your mouth like "xue" or "xia" or "qu"?
谢谢❤❤

I read many translated Chinese novels so I am here to check.

Ch and Sh is very same, I can not differentiate the difference.
q is between j and x
Ch is between zh and sh
you should have said that the tongue position is different, the lips do not play that big part.
Same shapes diffrent sounds the tounge whats that doing for each sound
still confused. where do you place the tongue for each sound?
sh is same as english sh but the tongue is way further back in the palate :) basically how the Irish pronounce the T at the end of the words.
非常感谢老师💕
There is no sound difference between between j and q
any difference in the tongue position?
That was so clear
J zh
Q ch
X sh
That was so helpful. Xie xie.
So helpful, thank you!

This is very effective because we can see the difference in the mouth positions... Thanks!
我等着这个视频. 谢谢老师. Amazing, I hoped for this video classe.
That is a stupid lessons :D
q and x it's similar😢
Thanks a lot. I have been very troubling in pronunciation these six tones but now I clearly understand.
Thank you 🫶🏻❤️🇨🇳❤️ this video help me today
thank you for this video it is so useful i didn't see the difference between these sounds before !
Something as basic as lip rounding hardly gets mentioned whenever producing these sound pairs. The vowels accompanying them here are a glaring telltale sign of this distinction.
At last someone who gave a clear and simple explanation ! 非常感谢
this actually answered my question on why the letter I sounds different sometimes
I guess it's more about tongue position than mouth (I've just started to study Chinese sounds I have to say)
J and Q sound exactly the same to me
J is not aspirated, Q is aspirated.
Zh is super easy for polish, just say dż
This is the best video I've found on these consonant sounds
Thankyou. This is what I needed to know.
You are the first video that has been helpful thank you so much!

We don't need to think about lip position while speaking . We can speak what we want without focusing on lip area . If sound is same or smiliar someone can understand your mean .
U chinese? 😂
amazing!!
😆
Thankyou this help me so much🙏.
I’m glad it helps 😄
