I’m your 100th “like” on this video. 👍🏻 I’m also an adult child to newly divorced parents. There’s a part in another video where you said, “…Then it’s time for that little boy to go play…” I just cried. Thank you so much. I’m finally compartmentalizing and processing such complex emotions and thoughts connected to my own experience and I am just so grateful. Maybe I can call in and have a conversation with you as well! I believe this kind of stuff can’t be talked about enough, we all need to get through hard stuff together and be of support to one another. The human journey is FREAKING hard. But we’ll all get through it.
13:57 - that hit me in my stomach. My parents are married, but I have been the adult in the room for a loooong time... and I hate it...
"You're going to have to grow up real quick."
Brother John, growing up in that environment, he probably did. He's probably the only grown up in the room when they are all together.
Your job is to mind your own mental health, take no sides, don’t listen to either side
When one of his parents fall ill, it'll be the sons buisness.
Divorce affects everyone connected to you .
It's easy to think the father is a 4 year old but that was a massive breach of trust. His wife does not get to say get over it. If she's not willing to do everything within reason to help rebuild that trust then of course it's going to constantly leave doubt in the dad's mind even after 20+ years.
Although this couple is very toxic mom sounds like a piece of work. She did the unthinkable 20 years ago and dad has been resenting her ever since mostly because she never fully owned it. Being that she's manipulative, she apologized to him but never publicly acknowledged what she did( not to an extent that would please him anyways) and dad, has been punishing her for it by having a foot at the door, but not leaving.
You were old enough to see whether there was an accusation or your mom was physically abused. I would not be surprised if she was as statistically every in few women have experienced domestic or emotional abuse. Knowing whether your mom wrongfully accused your dad does not portray a good human characteristic. As a son your job is to love both. Sometimes probably it is not easy to not take sides because some people are more influential than others but stay out of it. Love and respect both on their own terms. You’re not their judge, you’re their son.
Excellent advice
Taking sides is my specialty
Holy smokes, leave it to JD to blame the husband for trying to make the marriage work and be around for the kids despite his wife being one of the 33%+ of domestic abuse claims against men that have been PROVEN to be false.
This guys mom tried to ruin his dad’s life so she could come out looking as the victim. There is no “share of blame” here. He may not have been husband of the year but trying to ruin a man’s life with false allegations places blame 100% on that party. Disgusting.
Death, taxes, and the Ramsey personalities simping are certainties in this world.
What this lady did is reprehensible and the fact we brush over female sociopathy in this country is a systemic problem.
Do we call women 4 year olds when they’re bitter over a dude cheating on them?
The key issue is that the dad wasn’t able to move on but didn’t have the testicular fortitude to divorce and put the marriage to bed and let the family heal. What the mother did was awful and pathetic false accusations. However the father decided to resent her and let this fester for 15-20 years instead of being like “ this woman is sick and demented I don’t care if I had kids with her I’m done “ then let time to heal
@@drewdelaney4166 how many guys do you know that have the “testicular fortitude” to have their kids, home, and income stripped from them? Because that’s the reality for divorce in this country for men.
She’s already accused him of DV before a divorce filing. You really think she wasn’t going to dust off the playbook and do it again for cash and prizes and custody?
Where the guy messed up was getting married to start with.
Robin Thicke Blurred Lines 🤣🤣🤣
People who make irrational decisions don’t ask for rational advice.
Mom sounds like a drama queen.
