I think I need to find a copy of Red Dragon… I think. I only have two books in the series and have yet to crack them open. I’ve seen so many differing opinions on where to start, so I think I’ll just go in publication order since that’s how Harris intended for them to be read. 🤣☠️ Thank you for the shout out. So sweet of you! I’m excited to join in on the fun! I have two books picked out so far and I’ll wing it after that. 🖤
I have found a collection of Agatha Books at my local library thrift store. Great wrap up Nicole 🙂 I’m still looking forward though reading the book Halloween 🎃 party ❤
Great update Nicole! Red Dragon is a really great book. The Hannibal tv series also does the Red Dragon storyline, and it was quite good. Hallowe’en party was mid for me too.
Great reading week I have a love hate relationship with Thomas Harris and Hannibal Lector. I really love the books Red Dragon and Silence of the Lambs. Silence of the Lambs is probably my favourite film ever. Hannibal is probably my least favourite book EVER. This is where I reveal myself as a film nerd not just a book nerd… Michael Mann’s Manhunter is a really good adaptation of Red Dragon. Jonathan Demme’s Silence of the Lambs is a masterpiece and the main reason is that while Michael Mann shot a great psychological thriller, Jonathan Demme shot the story of a psychological thriller like a horror film. I mean when you see Lector for the first time he’s in a literal dungeon or crypt. I don’t like the Red Dragon movie so much, because despite really good source material and a fantastic cast, it feels like a Silence of the Lambs cover band. So yeah, Manhunter is a decent film and worth a watch and I prefer it to the Red Dragon movie. But steer clear of Hannibal in all its incarnations. It’s bad. I read The Halloween Party last year. I don’t think I liked it as much as you did. I felt that there were plot threads that were left hanging, and I could really tell Christie was in her later years because it gave me ‘hey you kids, get off my lawn’ vibes.
@@TheBookThing ah, very interesting! My hubby asked if I wanted to rewatch Silence of the Lambs and maybeeee… 👀 I don’t need to watch the other movies though. We have a lot of other spooky movies to watch that we have never seen before, so that’s a prodigy.
I am definitely not uncomfortable being talked to through a video 😂 I did end up giving Halloween party 3 stars. For me that's a solid "liked it" just nothing too special. I always feel like I have to explain my 3 stars 🤣 I really like Red Dragon, as well, and also rated that 4 stats way back when I read it last. Been a few years. I tried watch Man Hunter and just couldn't though. It gave me a bad headache 😒
Yo, Canva sucks! Ok, rant over. I loved the Manhunter movie more than the Red Dragon movie. I also loved the Hannibal movie it messed with my head for like an hour after watching it. I also loved Clockwork but I had to read it twice and then watch the movie to really dig it.
Thank you! Sorry you relate but it seems like lots of people do. Yay for not being alone in a weird kinda way? Red Dragon was great! I'll talk about it on my video tomorrow.
Red Dragon is the most gripping book I have read. It’s also one of the most disturbing. Manhunt is not worth your time, imo. Neither movie truly conveys the level of horror that this murderer inspires. I can understand, but it was still a meh for me.
Red Dragon's been the only book (so far) that's part of my spooky scary skeleton radathon that's been a fun read. I gave it 4 stars and will post my book review of it next week.

Yes, I definitely think in order to publication order is the best the vast majority of the time ❤ Yay to winging it!
Are you planning on continuing with Silence of the Lamb and Hannibal?
Yes, I am!
