I played Messenger like 6 times before this year, and upon hearing Sea of Stars was connected to The Messenger I immediately scooped it. Approaching the final boss shortly, the connections big and small have all given me chills and excitement.
I played messeneger a while back but sadly I deleted all my messenger gameplay so it feels bad man I cant go back to watch the dots connect.the map and backtracking gives me too much of a headache to play it again)

For new gen might give them appreciation for the genre and art style. And the dialogue between the characters especially the shop keepers

Also, the Demon King has 4 heads... a head with one horn, a head with two horns, a head with three horns and a head with a crown.
You even see the demon general in the credit scenes of Sos,so neat. Already hyped to see what is to come seems clear to me that rashan and the fleshmancers story isn't finished yet either and since the devs want all their games to play in the same universe all of this could become a huge project.
It's so unbelievably tragic. Time ate away at the guardian gods' legacy and the sea temple designed by their best friends just for them was their last resting place. It's so sad watching them like this, their physical forms reduced to nothing but shimmering lights in a broken down temple. Even the efforts of Garl and Teaks were not enough to keep their memory alive. I believe that belief in the solstice gods was cut off because the curse drew everyone's attention away from them. They had no time for faith when their lives were at stake, and they eagerly awaited the western hero every few generations. The curse cut their power off, and what's left acts as the key for the music box to end the curse. Their final act of love, courtesy of Luana and Solen, originally the children of Solstice Valere and Zale, would save mesa island from their ancient enemy. I'm sad now. Goodbye guys, we won't forget you.

I finished Messenger in 5 days after finishing Sea of Stars, and holy crap, Sabotage is my new favorite studio. I don’t know how they managed to make 2 incredibly different games both incredibly good. I can’t even pick a favorite, I loved them both so much.
There are even more connections with characters, areas, and just easter eggs. If you're reading this and are planning on playing the messenger after sea of stars, I'll leave these for you to figure out.

From my understanding the messenger takes place after a flood happened in sea of stars, the starting island of the messenger should be mesa island from SOS and wasn't affected by the flood because the sky giants build a titan who holds the island above sea level. You visit some areas of the messenger on mesa Island in SoS like autum hills and glacial peaks maybe the clockwork castle from SoS is connected to the music box from the messenger. Has anyone more connections between the 2, it's highly interesting.

The solstice warriors goal was to beat the world eater. They did that. They “died” early because of the general population no longer worshipped them over time.
A couple of things to be considered: 1 - The Demon King was not really defeated, that was some weak avatar that they used to manifest themselves in the world. 2 - The world of The Messenger have long lost its connection with the magic of the Stars, something that affects both the people and the monsters who live in it.

And the MELODY to break the curse, even the COLOR makes reference to Fer. THE NEXT GAME IS GOING TO BE AMAZING

Although Valere and Zale were woefully underwritten characters I can't help but get a little choked up looking back on this scene. They were just kids who were forced to give up their mortality for the greater good.
To think this is what would await Zale and Valere in the far future. Even reduced to spirits sleeping in a sunken shrine they still do what they can to save the world…
another connection is that the fleshmancer merges the dweller of strife and those 4 henchmen in red, transforming them into the demon king of messenger and the brugaves is transformed into the balmartazar the immediate of the demon king
Also, Garl gives The Sleeper the name Manfred, the same name as the dragon in The Messenger. Could be the same dragon, or just two that both want to be Butlers. EDIT: Nevermind, Wentworth is The Sleeper's new name. Different Dragon.
also in the messenger there's a small and chunky blue robe and his true identity is that he is the artificer. the robot guy that was the result of the merge of cael and others guys

It’s kind of a sad story. Brugaves was always called slow and always came in last. So he becomes the fastest there’s ever been, but as an evil demon.

The messenger is the reason I supported sea of stars on kickstarter in 2020 (just enough to get my copy for pc).
