I have 16 plate 4x4 duster (also white) and experienced similar situations recently. All fancy BMW and VAG fanboys on emergency lights reving up on standstill. Lol
15 reg with stock tyres (Continental Cross Contact). AWD or diff lock, snowy climbs no problem, on or off road. I towed Mondeo up an icy incline last year. V good 4x4 performance with decent clearance and approach/ departure angles compared to other "soft roaders"

@@cormacjames4766 Winter tyres are not for snow only, summer tyres start loosing grip bellow +10C and are pretty dangerous bellow +5C... 4x4 may help you to crawl up the hill but you'll need brakes at some point too....
@@mototarka you dont need winter tyres at all for anything. I drobe a 250 mile round trip in the beast from the east in 2018 in a RWD 320bhp car no problem what so ever.
@@mrblobby6199 you see. the thing is. winter UK is completely different to winter in Poland. thus your "you don't need winter tyres" may only apply for the fact that we have proper winter condition maybe for few days per year.
Iv just brought a duster 2013 with every optional extra one old owner from new 49k with full Service history cam belt done recent it looks like brand new
Put winter tyres on any 2WD car and it will do the same. Similarly, put Pirelli Pilot Sports on a defender and it wont move. It’s all about the rubber guv!!
Most cars can cope in snow and ice with careful driving but the 4x4 decreases the risk of getting stuck (if two wheels are stuck the other two will get you out) and you'll have much better control oh and more fun doing other things!
bad idea to get that close to other cars in those conditions. and despite owning a 4x4 also, all you really need are a decent set of winter tyres, i was overtaking land rovers in drifted snow last january. 4 wheel drive is no use on summer tyres, you just spin 4 wheels instead of two and now you are in a high heavy vehicle to boot.

I have a Mitsubishi Outlander 2.2 TD 4x4....but no snow I also preemptive put all seasons tyres but again no snow so big ass car but where to use it...
To be fair most caught me up further down the road and we're impressed. When this video was taken I'd just finished a 12hr shift and had 45 minutes each way to get to and from work so a long day, and then I didn't have a tow rope. I do now have a soft shackles and a recovery strap and ironically checked a few hours before your comment to make sure they were still in the car to help anyone in need, although I have a newer duster and AT's now so hopefully even more agile in snow!

Not my VAG car. Its a quattro torsen running on Michellin crossclimate 2 tyres. Never had a problem getting stuck.

These dusters are surprisingly capable, although my kx3 sportage never fails to amaze me in the snow (when we have snow in the uk)

Half of the problems are people who don't know how to drive in snow either. Standard approach they use is just gun it

This is impressive. I wander if the stock tires are a better option for this kind of thin snow / ice vs a set of AT tires.
