The silver spatter can be prevented by introducing the silver into the flame atmosphere, waiting a moment, and then introducing the glass that you want to fume. If you want splatters, allow the silver to go in and out of the flame and rapidly transition from solid to liquid. You'll see specks flying off of the silver. This is useful for creating galaxy/space effects. The splatters look like stars.
I know it's an older video, but maybe some people will still see this and find it useful.

This was my favorite video yet! Especially the collaborations in Italy and Belize. I have a hot shop soft glass background from Philly but moved to Montana 4.5 years ago. It is amazing here, but has little to no affordable public access soft glass. I switched over to flame working boro 8 months ago and love it. The control and ability to put heat exactly where you want it, rather than trying to cool everything else down is phenomenal. One thing I really miss is the constant collaboration involved in a hot shop. It was wonderful to see that in this video, and for you to share that with everybody else.
I really dig how Italian your techniques and tool choices are. I had a lot of trouble finding videos online where the artist was using techniques and tools that I could translate from my previous experience. I may have missed it in a previous video, but it would be great to talk about the different techniques of using some of the Italian tools, especially the Jacks. Using 2 blades on hollow forms seems to me to behave very differently than reamers and better at getting parallel inflation. What do you think? Do you have any thoughts on less expensive Jack like tools? The Mini Jacks from Griffin for instance. Also, where are those small parallel tweezers from? They look perfect.
Please keep teaching and putting up videos! I cannot tell you how much they have helped me.
    -Cheers

SO SICK!! Loved to watch 2 styles of glassblowing from across the world learn from and teach new techniques to eachother! Also those heart murrine coins are dope! Definitely need to try this. Only been making glass for a few months now, but you have taught me so much! Thanks!

I've been reading and doing my own research on glassblowing for the past year i have no hands on experience I'm a former welder. but to be honest these videos are great. can't even being to thank u for this you've really motivated to jump into it. i visited my local glass shop (goose fire glass center) for the first time yesterday and i can't wait to start taking classes there.. dustin and kevin much respect

It's very cool that you take the time to explain some of the differences between glassblowing in the U.S. versus different techniques and tools utilized in places like Italy/Venice.
I originally learned how to prep blanks by flaring out blowtubes, but when I worked for Chameleon Glass in Arizona, I found that pulling points was slightly faster while making production pipes (since I have a long 'wingspan', I can pull two points at the same time, for efficiency)

I have loved you guys for sooo long! I saw you first back in 2013 and have been watching every video since. I took glassblowing classes in my hometown and just fell in love. I thought that the idea of using solar energy like you said in the beginning of this video was genius and i think it would be awesome if you guys used parts of that in your own studio:) i would love to recieve this pendant, i would treasure it forever. I also LOVE your spoon pipes and always wanted one! I love you guys!!! -chelsea (your biggest fan)

He also made jewelry (mostly silver&stone) I've worked flowing metal.. welding, torching, seals
for 10 years and I'm the best in my company. Do you think my background will come to use
In glassblowing ? Great videos, great info, great narration, thank you so much!!!!!:) always learning :)
I'm almost set up ; and my GTT should be in any day now.....

I am very new to glass, and do kilnwork at the moment, but am very interested in torch work once I get the space. But, instead of cold working the murrini slices to a polish, could you just run them to a fire polish in a kiln? Or does that make them not as usable for torch work anymore? This was my first time watching your videos, and great job!

+Matt J (DL) No, graphite has a smooth glide against glass. Steel tools will stick a bit, which is why you would use beeswax on jacks for a smoother glide.
