I stopped by a RAM dealer 3 weeks ago. They told me there was a moratorium on any Cummins sales due to fire risk and they didn't know when they could get them. With this issue and the transmissions and insane price, I bought a 2023 2500HD Chevy Duramax. My opinion is all brands have issues but the Chevy HD Duramax Allison has been the most reliable in the last 4 years. We will see ..lol
@@johnlickteig7559I just looked up the recall and my 2023 Laramie 3500 is not even included in the recall. It was just built in March. Hopefully I'm all set.
Man that looks so good... Wish I had one, oh wait, that's basically my truck minus the Ram Boxes, New Mirrors, Sun Roof and I have factory air suspension.... But I spent about 30k less in 2021.
What about the emission problems. Doesn’t matter how good the engine is if you can’t drive it. I previously owned 5 Cummins but just purchased a 6.4L gas with a 4:10 rear end because I can’t delete the diesel trucks anymore.
Hold on lol we watch your videos. You told us in the 3500 Denali Ultimate Black Diamond Edition that you, yourself, thought black out editions were played out 😂😂😂
I learned how to drive stick on a cummins landscape truck 30 years ago with a 30 foot box trailer and that engine could pull a house down in that configuration.
Hey, JB, I ordered a silver one just like that without the night edition. From LHM in Sandy. They opted for the Ram boxes by mistake. I ordered the 5th wheel prep package. Still waiting for my truck to be built. I suspect the misbuilt silver one is there also. Great video. Can't wait to get mine.
Great content sir! I enjoy your videos bud. I was definitely disappointed when I learned that the center vent is blocked off with no fresh air induction. Upon inspection, the back cover on the center vent can't be removed for air to flow through. The back cover has two mounting tabs that attaches the center vent to the under side of the hood. What I did was carefully dremmal out the center plastic portion on the back cover for some air flow. By doing so I realize it won't make a significant difference or be a fully functional scoop but it should lower under hood temps a bit. I'm sure someone like Banks will eventually make a functional kit for it. But in the meantime this will work. $109k,I paid 65k for that same truck back in 2014, of course with less technology. I would rather have the aux switches then the trailer park assist option. All my Rams have been ordered with the aux switches , they come in handy for accessories.
The Cummins the way it comes in stock form can make 900hp and 1800lb.ft of torque reliably with the stock bottom end and really only needs fuel, air, valve springs, head studs, and a tune to make that much power. The transmissions won't hold it though but there are a lot of these engines running around now with built 48re transmissions that are making that power with ease.
i can see them utilizing the hood scoop for better air flow i ordered a 23 night edition dually with 410. i would like to see a transmission upgrade but you can't Beat a asian transmission with 410 gears
I know a guy at my job who owns a ram 2500 Cummins. He said he doesn't tow shit. He bought it because he said diesels have good gas economy. Is that true? Being light engine?
I had a 2019 limited HO ram 3500, I purchased it for 72k off the lot. Then lost it in my divorce. Now the same truck is 109k..... and now I cant afford it. Its really a shame, I wanted a truck like that my whole life, only got to put 30k miles on it.
110 grand, really. I am literally taking delivery of my fully loaded 2024 AT4 3500 Duramax, which is basically a night edition. Sticker price, $88,464, more than 20 grand less and I am not giving up anything on what this truck had, plus I have shiny black mirror caps.
@@LayzeeGiant the shiny mirror caps were a direct reaction to JB suggesting that the RAM would better if it had gloss black mirror caps in his video, pay attention. As far as a money pit, I have owned 3, 2020, 2021, and a 2022. I have never lost money on them, and will not loose money on my 2024. And with all that, my payloads are better than RAM.
@@LayzeeGiant JBs followers are generally pretty respectful, then there is you. We all have the enjoyment of HD trucks and the RV lifestyle no matter what brand we drive in common. I am amazed at the cost of a RAM, honestly, 110k for that truck is crazy. But to answer your question, I have owned duramax trucks with little to no issues way in to the 200k mile range. The reason I have traded so often in the last few years is because the current market has allowed me to. I am a GM fan, that does not make me bad guy, I also like Cummins RAMs, but not at $110k.
You cant compare an At4 with a limited. Maybe a laramie. Plus 110 is msrp. You can get this truck for mid 90s from Mark Dodge which will put it right there with a Denali Ultimate
This truck is nothing different from my 2010 except for a nicer interior and new headlights. Same powertrain availability, same 6 Speed transmissions, and no updates to the cab. I hate to say it, but Ford and Chevy are the better options right now.
Change isn’t always a good thing. One thing I appreciate about Ford is that they ran they same cab from 99-16 and it was arguably the spaciest cab on any of the three brands for all those years. Excluding mega cabs probably which you can’t even get with an 8’ box.
@@oldnumber6 I would bet money on the fact that you’re right. I know the mega can recline but other than that I think Ford is more spacious. I knew if I didn’t mention the mega cab though that internet fact checkers would rip my throat out. But 110k no way.....can get one for 20k less thru GM ......personally I wouldn't buy another

Great Video and great information !
Thanks!!
You are surprised they still supply shocks? Would you want to supply them yourself in a 110k truck?
Is there an attachement on the hood scoop to make it usable?
