Basically Sybert commentate the game for the first time and then he rewatch the whole match in case he missed something, those highlights are usually showing interesting stuffs that he missed, it is a lot of dedication and high quality content for everyone 👍🏻
A commando!? That’s more rare than a Heroic harvester or guardian cannons! And we got a heroic ZOCOM mammoth. This match was wild, always great to see some unusual stuff
oh this is the game with the heroic mammoth? nice I think masterleaf has also casted this. Also dirty dutch and greenzero are the same? Awesome cast btw, always nice to see sybert cast
Not many know this, but jump jetting directly on structures/buildiings will c4 them on landing (you don't need to do anything). That''s coded into the game (Lauren told me). Also, great cast once again!
Commandos on the field always intriguing to watch. If someone find a few good tricks with NOD and GDI comm's it was like a dream. Oh, I wish they was more useful, not op, like Skrinn commando, but... Useful. Maybe one time in the patches or mods.
@@jincoygearz216 You should check out the time leaf turned the table on the Scrin commando with his GDI commando here (starts around 13:45 in that video): th-cam.com/video/dzrlowekvjc/w-d-xo.html
Those unconventional tactics by Masterleaf were extremely impressive. This game was just exciting from beginning to end, hopefully there's more in the future. Masterful use of Zocom.
that video editing, or whatever you wanna call it, around 15:30 where you showed both the main engagement of both armies while showing that sneeky cheekey mammoth tank in a smaller screen in the corner while highlighting the commando was really top notch. havent seen that before ever in a cast of any RTS game i watch. it always bums me out when you see mayhem going on in the mini map but that caster is distracted (rightfully so) by bigger engagements, plays, etc... would still love to able to see a unit counter, production tab, tib bank, harvester count, on screen as well.....thatd be super awesome 10/10 cast tho sybert thanks for the replays.
Someone would need to make mods for that. We have such great mods for casters in Age of Empires 2 for example, and they are features in games with big esports scenes that also have developer / publisher support, but it's pretty rare for small games like CNC 3. It's amazing that there are so many community maps, balance patches and a 4k texture mod even.
(Highlighting the commando because I totally missed it in the moment and when I was going back to re-record I realized it was on screen in-front of me the entire time and I just didn't see it.)
Watching this was like watching a boxing match where one guy is professionally trained and the other guy is wildly swinging in every direction and can't be countered. Masterleaf breaking the mold was an extremely fun watch.
After watching this I tried a GDI airborne sneak from early airfield vs brutal scrin. Found out it's hard to pull off! So many resources right out of the gate to commit. Took me 3 tries to make anything work. Great job Masterleaf!
So many cool freeform plays coming from Masterleaf this game, just goes to show how even with a fairly straightforward faction like ZOCOM there's always room for creativity
This works much better in Tib Sun though, since the damage, attack duration and armor of disruptors is far superior; a single disrupter can take out a war factory in less than two seconds, compared to two shatterers needing 7 seconds just to take out a power plant here. It can be pulled off quicker though, since shatterers are tier 2 units compared to tier 3 for disruptors.
This is why Masterleaf is my favourite. He seems to always be willing to try something new that isn't meta, therefore becoming meta and the cycle repeats
Every once in awhile, Sybert just manage to bring new stuff to the content without any warning. And this time, its the commando highlight. I must say, that is a really good highlight plus the text that accompanies it. And it must have took awhile to make
"ZOCOM Mammoths are weak" Compared to other upgraded T3 tank options, of course. But when you have T3 tanks in the field and your opponent doesn't? The humble ZOCOM Mammoth will wreck some face. Even without railguns, the Mammoth Tank is a good ol' brick of hitpoints, armour, and excellent firepower vs lower tier units/structures.
damn this was a great match. I wish they would include Live economy graphs for casters ( spectators ) to use in game while the events are happening. It will give us a better picture of things rather than just guessing all the time.
It would be amazing if we had good in-game spectator tools, unfortunately they never had the time or maybe the idea to add that stuff in before EA forced them to abandon it.
@@OneSybert I wish the forces of modding necromancy can solve these problems one day. Or EA return to sanity and share some love with that good series they shamelessly left behind. Oh, tale of tales!)
Awesome to see you going the extra mile to rewatch the whole match and edit in these highlights and second cameras. Really professional commentary, especially for such a small competetive scene. There are way bigger games that don't get this kind of coverage. It's such a shame that this game doesn't get more attention. The gameplay and graphics not only hold up even 15 years later, there is practically no match to this day. Now, it would have been awesome if Masterleaf sniped a few Juggernauts with that commando, too, or if he jumped in with his Zone Raiders onto those Juggernauts, or with Hammerheads or Orcas. Of course the game was over anyway, so it's the right thing to surrender for DirtyDutch. Else he would just be wasting time, and it could even be seen as BM to not surrender when a game is clearly decided. But as a viewer, I wanna see the big fireworks in the end.
D Dutch, ML and BikeRush are my favourite players. I really enjoy watching these guys, Sadly you missed the Commando at first but it was really awesome to see that edit. I hope to see Highlights on special moments like these, even when you would have noticed them. It was a really cool perspective
This just shows how Leaf is way ahead and above everybody else when it comes to creativity and strategy in this game. Even Bike is not on Leaf's level when it comes to these aspects
Leaf probably has the deepest knowledge of the game of any competitive player (maybe some modders know more) and he freely shares pretty much everything rather than guarding them like trade secrets.
@@Warp2567 From watching both of their youtube channels (though leaf tends to post the longer games, so I don't know about the short games), it seems both are very good at micro (leaf might even be a tick quicker at placing buildings down), but bike has better unit composition (some of that is due to leaf intentionally not playing the meta) and is more resilient in the midgame, and generally makes fewer mistakes overall.

Neither RA3 or C&C 3 were made by Westwood, both are EALA. That said they’re two different approaches to RTS. RA3 is more unit focused with a de-emphasized economy, a goofy art style, and a focus on micro. C&C 3 is more about macro and has a more grounded art style.
There's still a small, active community both playing more casual matches and more competitive matches. Do you have hooking set up? I had to enable hooking (may cause antivirus issues, not sure) and then launch the game from Origin/Steam and the C&C Online app will launch and then you click the game you want and it launches. Other than that, go to the Revora support forum for CCO.
