Origins has been so amazing! I only wish I could see them through the eyes of my childhood again. Such fond memories. I’m still so grateful that I got to see and collect he man again in my lifetime!
Point Dread was the first MOTU vehicle I got as a kid, so I can't wait to get this. Surprised that we're getting this considering the Origins line was cancelled in April.
I love dans enthusiasm for he-man I’m on the fence on wanting to collect for he-man so much. One day I might go head long into it. Other than that I must admit how awesome they have delves into there back catalogue of toys. I wish playmates would keep on with the tmnt and rerelease everything from the original 9 year run.

You could have used the Wind Raider on the other side of the tower (by removing the flag) to see both vehicles on Grayskull. As always, awesome review. 🙌

Only thing missing is a flight stand seeing has the port for one between legs. Would look awesome hovering over the perch! Adding more height lol Someone needs to 3d print a clear stand that connects and uses that circular 3 port circle in centre of perch.
Very cool review, can’t wait to get one , one interesting thing you didn’t mention is there is a peg hole underneath the fighter that allows you to attach it to some of the other stands like the Windraider and Stridor and such
I'm definitely excited for this one! It looks fantastic and I love how roomy the Talon Fighter is now. It's great we're getting all of these different things to attach to Castle Grayskull but I think having the Talon Fighter and Point Dread on there is how I'll display it.
That box art is superb! I like the computer is a 3d version of the vintage. The extra double blaster canon is a nice addition. The origins is all about switching parts so why not this ha ha. Ahhhh, the windowed-canopy is great. It's too bad that Point Dread couldn't be the same size or just slightly bigger than vintage.
You can also display the Talon Fighter on one of the flight stands from either the Wind Raider or Sky Sled. I hooked the Wind Raider display on Castle Grayskull and made it look like the Talon Fighter was flying over the castle. Awesome look. Either way, love this vehicle. Love your reviews, Dan!!
The old Talon Fighter holds two figures as well. Unfortunately, you cannot stand a figure up inside the new smaller Point Dread bunker, like you could in the vintage one. Vintage wins.
@@Rocket1377 I was never into vintage, I did not get into He- Man until origins, the 2002 series to me sucked. For me Was Always transformers & That is my main focus. For He man I just concentrate on the Origins. Back in the 80's it was Transformers for me all the way.
Love it! I did think the box choice was a strange one… in that style, a window box would have worked better and been in line with the rest of the vehicles… However I always seen this set as a play set, so would have preferred a square box just like the vintage. It is a fantastic looking toy though and love the upgrades. Great video, thanks Pixel Dan👍

@@Rocket1377 For sculpting and paint, I agree with you completely. But for fun new features, I think this new version has the rest beat. Classics was arguably just an upgrade (although the computer was a downgrade), but this version innovated.
Great review. I never felt comfortable putting my Classics Talon Fighter on top of Classics Greyskull, since it's so big and heavy. Does the Origins Talon Fighter fit on top of Classics Point Dread? The size seems perfect for Classics Greyskull.
Unfortunately no. The pegs on the Classics one are a tad too far apart, causing the new Talon Fighter to not even balance. Plus those pegs were designed with a clip that won't work on the new pegs holes even if they did fit. 😢
It should be easy enough to mod it. I altered a vintage Point Dread perch using LEGO pieces, to attach a smaller brick-built version of the Talon Fighter to my vintage Castle Grayskull (in scale with the Reaction figures). The Classics perch is held together with screws, so it should be possible to take it apart and fit it with some smaller pegs that are compatible with the Origins Talon Fighter.
How do other figure lines fit in this ship? I bought a couple of the newer CGI series TF on clearance, but ML and Joes are just a hair too tall/wide shouldered to fit comfortably, even the ladies. Some SW black do fit, fairly well. I don’t have any Mythic Legions to test, but I know Eric/Cornboy & 4H have numerous MOTU “homages”😉😉 in their line.

No, it is based on concept art. The Talon Fighter was originally going to attach to the top of the Eternia playset, and that's how that gun was going to look.
Hello Dan, Any chance that Mattel is re-releasing "Duplico"? It seems they gone since the release in Oceania and a briefly appearance on Mattel Creations, a total surprise, since he went sold-out faster than people noticed he was there. Seems that we have not a single shout from Mattel about MOTU line.
I've always pre-ordered online through sites like Big Bad Toy Store or Amazon. I've never had good luck with these at retail. And I hate going into those stores to hunt anyway. Heh.
The classics fit. I put Classics Heman up front of the pilot seat. Had to bend his knees. Then ab crunch him inward then move his head inward. He doesn't sit correctly since he is hunched over on the top part of the seat. But once you close the hatch it is not even noticeable. He does sit fine behind. So does Classics Teela. I can't sit Teela up front because she doesn't have an ab crunch. But 3 out 4 isn't bad.
Talon Fighter on Greyskull always reminds me of Fred Flintstone’s drive-in ribs on the side of the car.

The Talon Fighter was the greatest toy

It does not. The hole on the bottom is much smaller (designed for the flight stands from other vehicles like the Winf Raider)

You didn't mention that the silver gun ir radar can plug into the hole in the base part of Point Dread to make a bunker.
He also didn't show that the new bunker is too small for an Origins figure to stand up inside it.

Too bad you can't stand a figure inside the point dread alone or when it's in the castle. It's about one 1 inch shorter that the vintage.

It'll be nice enough for the folks who collect MOTU Origins, but I think I'm just going to stick with the Classics version of the Talon Fighter.
I'm glad for people who love this vehicle. But for me, it's a bit boring, my least favorite of them all.
That looks like some cheap plastic.
It is quite good and sturdy. I also like the nice gloss finish on the Talon Fighter. I wish the plastic windows didn't scratch so easily.
