I still remember dueling a core warrior in the little PvP arena and almost winning it.... until his damn throw axe skill crit me for a fat 5.6k. that was a real ok.jpg moment
If your at 25%HP or lower watch that throw 100% crit Chance many 1v1 finished by that ^^
It's like having to play a game of chess with only milliseconds to decide your move. And then here I am playing a slow game of checkers rolling my face on the keyboard wondering why I get destroyed so much. 😁

I'm sharing my thoughts here as a GW2 veteran playing since launch.
Playing warrior takes a lot of skill. It's a very punishing class with a huge pay-off, but requires a lot of game knowledge and experience to pull off. Simply button mashing won't get you anywhere, unlike other classes.
If you can win with warrior, you can basically win with any other class. If you want to understand how the competitive format works, it is my humble opinion that you master the warrior. Everything else should be icing.
These commentaries are very informative.
As someone who's just getting back into the game these videos are excellent to watch! Very good explanations, would love just a bit more explanation of the build. For example why axe core warrior over the strength spellbreaker? Does it do certain things better or is it just more enjoyable?
its just another option, str spellbreaker is the optimal build but its harder to play

Ty for the video. I play a melee duelist role too so it's good to see how you handle situations that duelists come across quite frequently
This is probably a really amateur build and it will get rolled against good players but I have way too much fun playing pvp with axe/axe hammer. I put bulls charge and stomp on my specials with the banner ultimate (I exclusively try to use this in group fights where an enemy and ally are down in the same radius) and you end up having 5 cc options with the hammer F1. When you run into a player with only 1 stun break you turn them into a punching bag.
I'm a new player and I like this kind of fun build. What specialization do you use?

Warriors look so good when good players play. The only build that remotely works for me is that support shout build :p

@@akhsdenlew1861 probably because in this match im going vs better players than usual, so its not me carrying 1v9

But it felt like you could do so much more with.. literally any other class in the place of the warrior.
No situation was salvaged or developed to your advantage cus of the class.
This is how i felt, honestly it doesn't really have to do with you and how you played that game, i don't think you played it bad. quite the opposite, which is exactly why it pisses me off.
It has to do how weak warrior feels with the telegraphed and honest skills he has... while all other classes, like the mesmer you fought, have so much "cheese".
That's just my personal opinion though.
@@akhsdenlew1861 i agree that i could have done much better on more meta classes, but if i used that argument everywhere i would never explore other stuff, not meant to be an assertion of if the build is good, just showing how its played

And huge respect for going for non meta builds actually.
My internet is horrible, any of my movement skills only throw me like a meter away after animation lock lol seeing Val fly across the map makes me envious.

How is the self sustain from a core warrior in small pvps?

Hello, How do you do to see the health on the top of the enemy even if you don’t target them ?
you can't
This is 5 months old but,
Its a setting in the options menu. Show enemy health bars, always.
There is another option to have thick health bars for allies.
I forget where exactly it is, but it's on the first (Or top tab) in the option menu.

Back to GW2 after some years and War being my main, im running this build and thank you for this vid! Learnt a lot from this, is this core build STILL viable? Managed to duel quite a bit earlier but often i get melted, maybe its my playstyle or is this build/role redundant now?
its still good you just need to get used to it and others
@@Vallun Thanks for the reply, last question, on my build im running Burst Mastery whereas you are running Axe Mastery. Would you recommend Axe over Burst? Or much of a muchness?
@@rojasishere6746 axe mastery increases all your damage not just bursts and gives you more adrenaline, pretty much better always if you use axe
