Except that girl in the green clearly used magic to make her puppet thing turn into a giant. It has sci-fi elements, but a single aspect that is beyond anything scientific turns this into a fantasy/sci-fi.
i think that's because of the time frame. SAO took place over the course of 2 years, while ALO took place over the course of 1 or 2 weeks. that being said, i really think they could have stretched The SAO part into 25 episodes and make ALO a different season.
Right now, I'm waiting for shingeki no kyojin. That anime looks epic. The preview of it got me so excited. I'll probably watch this anime in my spare time.

You made the common mistake of mixing up production quality and deficiency in story. One can criticize IS' story or characters and if you want to say it is terrible, I am fine; yet in terms of production quality it is good: animation very well done, music choice good, character design moe enough for the harem genre, production packaging outside the anime itself attended for.
I know by the teachings of Sugisaki Ken that one should always place their harem above all else. But here, if I piss anybody off, the world is screwed. Such misfortune...
dude i think you'll fucking regret saying that after you watched at least the WHOLE first episode xD I've been watching a lot of anime and nothing got me as hooked as SAO ..its very heart warming from time to time..there's alotta love
When I get bored of it I'll stop watching anime of that genre. Don't expect people to just up and stop watching because you don't like it anymore. I still find some entertainment value in it, you don't anymore so that's your problem not mine.
Ayana Taketatsu? it makes sense but.. do you know "Ekaterina Kurae" from Seikon no qwaser? shes spoken by aya hirano and this part sounded for me exactly like a ekaterina... i know Ayana Taketatsu from asuza nakanos voice.. mh... strange.. but thx
I agree with you, overall it's a great anime but the only thing that I kinda dislike is the harem. I'd still check this out though, maybe I'm just gonna ignore the harem part.
