Out of all heavy equipment operators I definitely think loggers have the coolest gig. All the machinery is so wacky, but traversing the forest in one of these things slingin logs around would be a blast.
I had a chance to see heli-logging on Vancouver island. You wanna see something neat check that out. They fly the fallers to the hill top then bring the cut logs to the dry land sort. They use the big cargo helicopters. Heavy lifters. It’s awesome.

Dont take this the wrong way, but if youre concerned about protecting nature, then stop using paper, living in homes, and going to fastfood restaurants. Im assuming that your comment is rooted in "good" intentions, but literally everything you depend on, results in mass harvesting of natural resources. Just because youre aware, doesnt mean youre exempt. However, I will say that the forestry industry is one of the most developed and "Environment conscious" industry out there. Same with oil. But if you wanna lecture, get rid of all your clothes and electronics and go live as an indigenous person. If you cant do that, dont be a hypocrite and just be still and quiet.

@@lespy91 Do you use paper products? Like any at all? IE toilet paper, printer paper, etc..? Do you live in a building? Also, since we are on this topic, how about all the mining for precious metals that is used to make our computers, cell phones, security cameras, etc. Do you drive a car? All the steel and aluminum as well as other metals were used to build that vehicle. The very fact you even post on youtube, is a testament to your hypocrisy. Your very existence is rooted in such terms. Im all for living off the land in a primordial way, but most of yall aint up for that. I would suggest doing a bit more research on where your everyday products ACTUALLY come from instead of lecturing me on hypocrisy. Literally everything you and your band camp enjoy, comes in a way that "detrimental to the environment" and usually because your stance in rooted in "feel-good" politics over reality. If you werent a hypocrite, you wouldnt be taking to be right now and living in the wilderness with no electricity and a shelter made of dead fallen branches.

I feel my point is not properly conveyed, and nor is yours. So at this point, I decline to comment, and hope the best for you and yours. I cant argue stupid nor ignorance, Just be wary of feelgood tactics and such. The solution isnt always great, regardless of the purveyor.
