Thank you Fr. Ignatius. I love to listen to Jesus through your homilies. Godshine on you and the friars [Isaiah 60:19-20].

Oh how long it has been to even begin learning that listening does not mean just waiting for my turn to talk. Please forgive and help me, my Lord.

So much useful understandable learning in so little time. I found this today, watched it 3 times, learning more each time. I am very grateful Father. Thank you, Jesus, my Lord

Thank you Fr Ignatius. In our family, i felt that the one who was taught of God with Virtues by forgiving the whip unkindness endured many years; that person was given the gift of the Holy Spirit to know or be enlightened by the meaning of Our Lord's Words in the Bible. But, the members of the family who were not humbled or proud most their years; were now asked by our Priest to be humbled not to speak. I wish to be silent that i will only give what was given to me to my Priests. I often think maybe i am not enlightened; maybe i am hallucinating and conceited; but, the Holy Spirit has His Ways to tell me thru my Priest that it was really Him! I will be more silent; happy in silence.

In the case of the scandal, I agree with Mr. Michael Voris uncovering what evil actions in the church took place and who facilitated them.

In regard to our zeal in removing erring or sinning clerics or in reproving them, even the pope, we have to often reflect whether we have gone too far. Yes, that is possible! We should be zealous for the Church but Jesus' parable of the tares among the wheat Mat 13: 24-30 where Jesus tells the workers to not pull the weeds because it will do too much damage to the wheat should give us cause to temper that zeal. We can sin by doing too little or too much. We therefore must often reflect and ask for prudence in these matters.

@@franciscanfriars Fr. Roderic, your comment is graceful and inspiring, a humble master class on how to redirect with kindness and clarity. Your gentle instruction makes me to want to learn to think, speak, and write with charity spelling the words. You have a beautiful manner and I do not wish to cause you any discomfort through my praise. God is behind the splendor of the friars.

penance is necessary. without it our soul is not going to be purified. we are meant to strive for holiness. suffering is the key to heaven

I think that Jesus was behaving like a good Jewish boy in the years before His ministry began. No, I don't believe He was doing penance because that's against His teachings. Penance does not get us into Heaven but repentance and being filled with the Holy Spirit leads us to want to follow Christ; it is the internal of us, that leads us to exercise patience, meekness and humility with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Father in a way that is not accurate. first at all our Lord when he was a child has instructed the elders at the temple, it is possible Our Lord was not having a Public Ministry but was talking with the Rabbies? such as yourself when you were a Seminarian you were quiet most of your preparation. To pray in silence is not the same that to remain in silence in the face of sin and injustice. St Catherine of Siena...denouncing and correcting, defending the Holy Magisterium of the church. I understand when you saying not to rush into a judgement of actions, without not knowing most of the facts, doing so can cause injustice. But once the actions are verified, if it is evil it must be denounced to prevent others from being victims. At the same time we cannot be telling the sin of others to others, and gossip. Like a person living together without marriage, is wrong to talk about that person, but is right to tell to the person why marriage is necessary, without denigrating her or his dignity. That can be done if we love them, as persons.
