Rangers are so powerful. I feel like you have to have a mounted machine gun to stop them. I just played a game with 2 vet 3 panzergrenadiers with 2 machine guns each and a solo squad of vet 2 Rangers solo-ed them.
yes, they are really super strong! i had 4-5 opponents in some games... I could not think of any counters :(

Again. Rangers are easy to counter. They also cost a lot of manpower.

Two ranger units is enough to ruin the game. It’s so fucking op. Americans don’t have even make tanks. They counter infantry, tanks, they ve got broken abilities. All this doctrin is stupid, especially with this blob skill
exactly two units...flame throwers +bazooka..and it's game over.
Plus infantry spam and gg...If you're playing for the Wehremacht anyway, but Dak is completely in ..there's no way to stop it. The unit is cheap, it is also without comment: (If you look, every game is played by renger spam..they don't play anything else.

I think this is proof that Rangers need a effing nerf...soloed a flame tank? i mean really? come on! I mean they just stood there and took it too...ridiculous
yes, they feel a bit too strong. but maybe I haven't found the right counter yet.
You carried the mid game but later struggled a lot. For rangers, inf. support group is a MUST. The planes are nice but cannot compare to the inf. buffs that you need. Also, you had so many zooks but didn't get the upgrade from the base for super zooks.
i would disagree but achilles only ever used half his battlegroup... i often use 1 arty and an airstrike to counter enemy obese or critical bunkers... smoke is also very important for rangers
however inf suppport gives you alot of awesome stuff like AT mines and cheaper granades and bars
i had to adapt to the opponents. in the end i switched to ranger only. yes, i don't always use all the abilities of the battlegroups.
2 were rage quit they kinda suck for this or they lost their precious unit at the getgo knowing those are the only units they ever needed but partially wrong sections or rifles are just not very well fare if up against a good ol combinations of their units even combine their armor as well

Rangers are not powerfull they are straight up broken. Most op unit in coh history. 1 vet 3 ranger squad solos 3 6 men pzgren squads with lmgs... somehow rangers are extremely resilient to other infantry. Only way to deal with them is a tiger.
rangers are my number 1 fear opponents. what they have already cost me in nerves...

When you get a BAR on a Ranger you're not replacing a weak RM leader Thompson but a Ranger's Thompson which is extra wipey at close range, the BAR fire on the move feature is also redundant Ranger's Heavy Weapon Expert skill which allows all weapon like LMG and Flamethrower to be fire on the move. This is why BAR is the worst pickup on Ranger and all weapon drops are actually mostly sidegrades. You could however make the argument that longer ranges are better in the later part of the game but the difference is very slight and not worst where you want them to be.
Still you got Rifleman running around and honestly not getting the super zook bother me a bit more.

@@Zoulrage This is true Rifleman but not the Rangers, what might be more confusing is that one model on the Rifleman also has a Thompson but that a weaken version it not a true assault gun like on the rangers.
The Ranger Thompson has a DPS of 11.84 no cover up to 10 range steeply dropping to 2.14 at 18, moving accuracy of 85%. They also get a 20% baseline accuracy bonus from heavy weapon and can further be bumped up with the steady firing veteracy ability which almost negate the moving penalty.
The BAR has a DPS of 7.275 up to a range of 7, it only declines to 2.14 at a range of 32.5. Moving accuracy of 75%. It a technically a LMG but can always be fire on the move, more accurate when able, but loses some long range damage. Paratroopers and Captain cannot fire LMG on the move btw, Rangers and SSF specifically can.
Both the BAR and the Garand is consider to be aggressively statted towards the mid-short range but even then they are not true "assault weapons", the BAR being a straight upgrade at all range to the Garand. However, up close the Rangers do 3X the Garand, a 2 Bar RM, and 1.4X a 6 Bar Ranger.
High damage spike at close range is typical for assault class but Rangers are super elites they hit as hard as a 7 assault gren and still have a range advantage over them. Logically a Six BAR Ranger isn't bad but its might not be what you're looking for. 2 Ranger will wipe a unit in 3-4 seconds with their base kit.
Also there no cover bonus at short range. So you don't tend to use normal the cover to cover shootouts logic.
@@Ogema-1 might consider trying to specialized my rangers more... Normally i try to get 2 zooks and what ever weapons on them
@@Zoulrage You should consider putting them on your Rifleman. I would absolutely build 2 zook RM if given the option that might sound like Paras but Rifleman have stickies and sprints. BARs are often the worst of the rolls but they are still cheaper BARs for your Rifleman. LMG and Flamers are great pickups to round out your rangers.
I don't think BARs are bad on Rangers but it changes their role in combat.
Zooks on the other hand is a big decision since they only hit infantry even with Rangers 4.5% of the time, deals half damage, and goes down to 2.25% if you decide to fire on the move. It also has the side effect of dropping your damage faster as the squad loses men. Rangers with Zooks are really nice because they can actually land their shot consistently on tanks.
