I saw this thumbnail and came running. I can never forget this game. I played as an emulator during high school and then got the hard copy years later. I enjoy the game a lot 🥹
Cool beans. For one reason or another, I just never got around to collecting that game. If I do find it though, I would love to play it. Not only does it have Necrodeus, one of my favorite villains in the entire series, it has possibly the most substantial sub game collection up until RTDL DX. I especially love how some of them reference the anime, especially Kirby Quest.
I remember. Kirby Quest was an awesome sub-game, and Necrodeus is basically the only Kirby boss to actually put Kirby in legitimate mortal peril…. for about two minutes.
This actually makes me happy because mass attack was my first kirby game, so I have soft spot for it. Pretty bittersweet to see there’s people who still remember it, it’s an underrated gem
I will say that Kirby Mass Attack is one of the toughest games to 100% in the Kirby Franchise (Maybe only beaten by Kirby Dreamland's challenge mode, Dedede's Drum Dash Deluxe, and Super Kirby Clash but Clash is just more grindy). To 100% the game, you need to clear every stage without taking any damage. You have to manage ten Kirbies and make sure no stray nuts land on them, that's also with them taking up half the screen. The medals are there, but pretty easy. They might make you play a level multiple times, but you only need a no-hit run once. There's also a challenges tab where you need to do some spare objectives. Some are alright, like beating a certain amount of enemies. Others are brutal, complete a level without getting trapped, burned, or choosing the wrong door. These mainly add onto the no damage runs, but they still make it extra strict. And lastly are the minigames. Like Garf said, these games are pretty much arcade games that can take half an hour to beat each. While not as as strict, they have an "The Arena" minigame.
Those no hit runs were brutal. The world 4 boss with the cannon needing to be aligned just right or you'd get launched into spikes was awful trying to do with how slow the fight is but damn was the music good.
Damn, exact same experience of enjoying it and always wondering why I never heard anyone else talk about it. It was absolutely an enjoyable experience, despite its flaws, and the sub games really were SUPER robust. Would absolutely love to see it return in some way, somehow…
I remember that Kirby Mass Attack was one of the first games I played on my DS when I was a kid. Even though I'm eighteen now and don't play with my DS anymore, Kirby will always be my favorite character from Nintendo.
Kirby mass attack was my very first kirby game i played as a kid and i absolutely loved it and i do agree that this game definitely deserves more recognition.
I 100%’ed this game, which requires getting all metals and going through every stage without a single kirby getting damaged. Level 4 stage 12 was such a pain with its miniboss rush
One thing I will never forgive HAL for is, when they gave the return to dreamland soundtrack official track names, they named one song the exact same as one in Mass attack. So now “Woods Wayfarer” is a return to dreamland song to most, but I always remember where that name really came from.
I never forgetti it. It has special place for my heart along with Kirby Epic Yarn. Btw, I'm replaying it on my 3DS AND on my emulator(since there are achievements)
Mass Attack always is going to have a special place in my heart, it was my first Kirby game and i loved it, the story, the gameplay, the art style and the music were an amazing new experience for me bc i only played mario games at that age LMAO and now im a sucker (No pun intended 💔) for the Kirby franchise
I remember fawful’s minion talk about this in a top ten list. Kirby mass attack. A game pf cuteness. Of happiness And even…Forced interactions… Ok this game is violent beyond belief.
what an absolutely cute and sytlistic video, i love the presentation it's just bursting with charm D: i played through all mainline kirby games and decided to do mass attack too, it's such a unique gem that reminds me of the peak of the ds era
kirby mass attack was one of the first games I got on my DS, and it was one of my favorite games for that system. it’s sad how it doesn’t get enough love 😢
Gotcha, I kind of made an assumption there since I'd never seen much touch screen stuff beyond like Mario Maker (which has button controls too) but I think the point still stands that we can't get a touch screen game to the scale of KMA on switch.
I could never forget about Kirby Mass Attack, it was one of my favorites back in the day! It was super creative how they made all the silly little features work and the sub games were crazy fun! Also the little Poyo noises the Kirbys make are so adorable! ❤️
I like the idea that the kirbies don’t know they’re being controlled by the player and are just trying to get the star that shows up when you press the screen
You have really good production values, but why is the aspect ratio so screwed up? It looks like it's trying to conform to a SNES aspect ratio instead of the DS' 4:3 aspect ratio.
I kept resizing the window by clicking on it by accident when trying to flick throughout my playthrough so a lot of my clips have different aspect ratios lol, sorry about that.
You might've been able to play the game in a mobile emulator, which would allow you to create a screen recording, and play with actual touchscreen controls.
A pleasant reminder that Night Desert is just Sky Sands from Kirby Air Ride! Amazing game that it is! It also has plenty of other amazing tracks and i strongly urge anyone who may not have played it to try it!
Kirby mass attack was the first Kirby game I’ve ever played and was my all time favorite during my childhood, it’s such a fun game and I’m sad that it’s not talked about enough.
OMG YES FINALLY SOMEONE TALKS ABOUT KIRBY MASS ATTACK I NEVER FORGOT I LOVE KIRBY MASS ATTACK AND THE MOMENT I SAW THE THUMBNAIL I KNEW. I KNEW IMMEDIATELY YESSSS KIRBY MASS ATTACK AAAHHHHHHH
i remember when i was young and i had just gotten an r4 flashcart, i was so happy because i had lost my kirby squeak squad cartridge, so but while looking it up, i found mass attack (for context, i knew squeak squad under the name mouse attack, which is why mass attack showed up lol) and i remember spending such a long time on it!
I love this game so much. I played it so much, and I would literally play the music when I was in bed at night. I have a lot of good memories with Mass Attack. I didn’t know that it wasn’t very popular.
Awwww Kirby mass attack my first Kirby game. I don’t remember much about it but I do remember very fond memories of beating the bosses, (especially the world four boss) having hard times with the flick controls, and loving the turn base mini game. I even still have the cartridge to this day although nothing I can use to play it.
Dude mass attack was my childhood. Edit, i replayed it like 4 month ago and i love how many minigames it has, brawlball and the one where you fight meta knight in the end are my favs!
Just so you know the reason Daroach and the squeak squad are in this game is because Daroach actually tells you (albiet incredibly vaguely) to collect the rainbow medals because according to him they lead to treasure or something like that essentially this crucial information is hidden in dialogue which is incredibly forgetful and skipable he does also have hints and tips for other levels but as a kid playing this game whenever he was talking i almost immediately forgot what he was talking about thinking it was just stuff about the level i was in(because he typically talks to you after you game over in a stage) or red herrings just for flavor text just thought id clarify since i suppose they do technically tell you that you should collect them but dont outright say its needed for progression
Daroach does talk about a "treasure" but I don't believe that he implies that it is necessary for progression. At least the way I gleamed his lines was that the treasure would give me some optional reward, but I will admit I was not super paying attention to his lines.
Sometimes i dont care if a game is popular or not, just get them to play, but ive never known in my 12 years of having a 3ds (i had the cartridge of the game) that KMA was super underrated
Kirby Mass Attack was still a bit of a remnant in Triple Deluxe because by collecting Keychains you we're being told from which Kirby game the character of the keychain came from, there's some from Mass Attack too, most are from Nightmare in Dream Land and Kirby & The Amazing Mirror
I remember the middle school I used to go gave out the sticker sheets for this game and it's pretty fun to plaster them on devices like Laptop,Phone,Wii,DS,and 3DS (also the game is so damn underappreciated)
I haven’t played this game in Years, but I have a lot of fond memories and this reminds me of why. A perfect game by any means? No, not even close. But it’s unique, fun and cute. It’s memorable and stands out with strange ideas and that’s why it’s so great, I love it because it’s special.
The thumbnail is both cute and depressing. Way to get me to click on the video by tugging on my heart strings.
The kirby kittens
theyre so sad :(
Poor little Kirbos :(
I saw this thumbnail and came running. I can never forget this game. I played as an emulator during high school and then got the hard copy years later. I enjoy the game a lot 🥹

Don't trust anyone who only knows Kirby Mass Attack as the game where The Skeleton Appears came from.
I’m kind of the opposite, I was flash banged replaying the game for this because I totally forgot it was from this game lol
I actually loved the meme because it gave Mass Attack some recognition.
THAT MEANS I SHOULDN'T TRUST VERNIAS AS GE PLAYED THE GAME TWICE?!

it was my first DS game to begin with so I feel you
This was my first Kirby game too! I never realized how underrated it was. I should play it again. The Night Desert music is so good!!
Same! It was what made me like Kirby
This was also my favorite kirby game...! I loved the exploration and collection, and the graphics were so cute!

I firmly believe mass attack is one of the best kirby spinoff games. It’s no airride but it’s also no canvas curse.
Immediately when seeing the thumbnail I knew what game it was…
Kirby’s mass attack is still one of my favorite games of all time.

You've convinced me to play this game. I literally just ordered a copy. It looks fun enough to justify the price.
This game always occupies a special place in my heart. Also, the tank theme slaps.
This Was The First Kirby Game I EVER PLAYED! I Would NEVER Forget It!

Kirby mass attack was always my favorite kirby game. I replay it every few months for years. It's peak
I never forgot about Kirby Mass Attack. Love that game. I remember the later parts of it being a little hard
I haven’t forgotten this game. The music, the space themed levels, and the final boss were so cool.

I remember playing this game when i was younger and fell in love with the blue kirby colloring
