This exact thing happened to me in Paris years ago - my friend and I got followed by a tiny little yellow dog. Eventually we realised she had no owner so we picked her up and carried her about for a while not knowing what to do. We went into a really expensive Parisian department store, found a worker who spoke English and she opened her staff door to reveal that she’d brought her two dogs to work with her. She said if the dog we found had no owner she would adopt her cos she was so cute. I hope she’s happy!
And yet in parts of rural Southern China, not to mention Vietnam and Indonesia and South Korea, Dogs are eaten and generally horribly treated and abused in fact.

I hate a lot of people in my town that have dogs and don't train them at all and let them run around not being watched at all then they come in my yard and tear stuff up now whenever I see any and they start barking at me for no reason I make them get away if they're not too big. I hate people in my town growing up here has made me have a bad perspective towards civilization and has made me want to move away and live in the woods all by myself, can't stand people sometimes. If I did see a tiny dog like this one in my yard and it seemed abandoned and hungry I would help it but all the dogs running around in my town get no mercy lol they're well fed just not watched and I hate them.

Hay un festival en China donde ese día se mata a Miles de perros para comer,he visto videos finde los cocinan vivos, y videos de rescatistas de muchos países regateando con los que venden los perros para poder llevarlos a un refugio,los meten en jaulas apilados,aplastados, también en restaurantes, es horrible, pienso que el Estado no hace mucho al respecto, o las autoridades correspondientes! Esto se sabe en todo el mundo, claro que hay chinos que los tienen como.mascotad, pero para ellos es una costumbre de mucho tiempo matar perros para comer, y menos en un día festivo dedicado a la matanza de estos animalitos,y muchos asados vivos, lo ví,es horripilante! Lived in China. Very different culture than US. Some people eat dogs as meat products, especially in rural areas. I witnessed that as a teenager and was appalled at the practice, but it happened. It used to be thought many years ago puppies of certain colors provided medicinal properties when eaten. This appeared to be a street market. The puppy could have escaped from stall selling puppies for that purpose. They aren’t treated like human companions in the same way as in western culture. That mindset is changing, but slowly. (Educated young people with careers wouldn’t nowadays I suspect.)Very sweet puppy and quite intelligent. Please, please update.

Thanks for helping her. I would have picked her up and removed her from the dangerous situation. Every second that she was running amongst people on the sidewalk she was in danger of getting crushed. But I guess it's better to be late than never.

That's because dogs are valued for their meat. And that's how most Chinese who eat dog meat look at dogs. Every year there's a two week holiday where millions of dogs are butchered for their meat, leaving everyone happy with full bellies.

Simple because one is cuter? Because one is deemed more intelligent? If you're appalled by the practice, I think you should consider giving up animal protein.

Well if I saw a puppy walking around with someone filming it closely behind I would assume that person is the owner. People often take their dogs out on walks unleashed. Your first thought wouldn't be anything worried unless the puppy looked really beat up.
