I'm a metalhead and an insomnia. I'm seeing a lot of comments that are worried, but please wait until the whole album is out! It's only like 10 seconds for the previews so please don't judge it too soon! Also, they've always been versatile and branched out, so please dont worry if this comeback isn't for you. I'm sure they'll make plenty more bangers in the future for everyone's taste, regardless of genre. I'm excited and can't wait to see what Dreamcatcher has to show us this comeback! 😍

I don't listen to groups because I like the idols, I listen because I like their sound. Yeah I like some of these songs but the older ones are probably gonna get more listens personally. Quite a few fans like me are here mainly for the more rock inspired kind of songs. Its not that I don't like the ballads and pop songs - I do, especially ballads, but I much rather have more rock in their songs. However we've got less and less of it over the past comebacks. At least dami's song seem like its going to be really dope.

Honestly it's refreshing to see them do a softer concept. I know BEcause tried to go for a more creepy, "Red Sun" vibe which I absolutely love too. They've been doing rock with powerful percussions in their music since they debuted. I'm not opposed to them doing something unique!

My gurl Yoohyeon making her solo debut with a vintage/oldies vibe song like, what a queen! Easily my favorite track of the album. Some people really be forgetting that the group songs and the solos are different, that's why they placed the skit between them. The group songs are just the same with their dystopia: lose myself, dystopia: road to utopia and summer holiday albums. The title track being the rock track and the bsides having different genres.
The solos matches their personalities. Their styles. Each of them worked hard to write lyrics and compose their songs. It's okay to not like the songs because it's not your taste but by saying it's bad, disappointing and boring just because it's not your favorite genre is basically insulting DC's hard work. We all have our taste and so does dreamcatcher. Their solo songs fits them well. If you don't like the genre then don't like it. You don't have to badmouth the genre and the song.
People also seriously needs to stop judging the songs by a 10 sec snippet. You just heard a small amount of the song and suddenly you don't like it. Annoying.

All the people freaking out in the comments that Dreamcatcher is straying from their rock sound, I get that you’re worried but wait to hear the whole song/album before writing DC off completely. As many people have pointed out, their B-sides have always explored other genres to prove to people that they are capable of doing any genre. Also, even in the Rock genre there are sub-genres so, don’t be hasty but wait and see.

For everyone staying they're disappointed, I've been an insomnia for 4 years and this album is full of solos catered to each member. These are most likely songs they choose for themselves to show a side they've wanted to show for a while now. They have a lot of rock themed songs and songs from all different genres and they're allowed as artists to grow and choose which direction they want for themselves. Just because the song is metal/rock doesn't mean it isn't good, bc to me all the songs sound really well made and different.

For people who shit on Maison, take note that:
1. They are kpop group, not metal group.
2. They still have retained their rock signature sound in their title track. In the 25 secs preview, I heard more rock than in entire BeCause.
3. If you wish for heavy metal in their korean title track, it probably will never happened, they will save it for their Japanese release (if any).
4. Kpop is a business industry, they are not doing music for charity. In order to increase revenue, they need to grab more general public fans (especially domestic fans). Their music need to keep evolving, which is totally fine as long as they stay with their root rock sound. They have been mixing rock sound with other genre since Piri and found success with that.

For anyone not happy with this comeback, understand they've put so much work taking a huge risk by doing metal/nightcore for years and have killed it. They've had to push to not only still sing with live mics but also have consistently difficult and clean choreo every singly time they've been on stage.
They need a break and they've earned it.
Also, we got a group album where everyone has a solo single. Solo singles that are customized for each member which would only broaden their reach to a bigger audience. This is the best thing they could have done and I'm here for it.

Wow, DC manages to surprise me every time! A song about endangered animals who are losing their homes because of climate change? I am so ready for it! A round of applause to Dreamcatcher for making songs on very serious topics. They did the same with the Dystopia trilogy. First, BOCA about toxic society and people who badmouth others. Next, Scream about people who attack others for being different. After that, Odd Eye about cyber-bullying and how the world isn't as happy as it seems because of that. Now we have the Apocalypse series coming up and the first song is about endangered species! Spreading messages through music is such a good idea! They truly are the one and only, Dreamcatcher. I understand that many people stan Dreamcatcher because of their unique sound, but you also need to realise that they are still a Kpop group, hence they are not going to sound as hard as some of you all want them to sound. Kpop is known for their diversity and the sudden changes in concepts and style. Dreamcatcher have been doing rock title track for 5 years so it's understandable that they might want to explore some other genres. It's their right as artists. If you don't like it that's fine but at least save it for yourself and don't spread negativity in the content they post. They have worked hard for this, if you don't like it at least say it somewhere where they can't see it
Plus, it's only glimpses of the song, there is no way to know how each of them will fully sound.
I kind of agree but I think you don't quite understand the reason people are "worried". It's not only that we're not getting a rock TT, but it's the (seemingly) lack of variety in this album, and the (seemingly) lack of "uniqueness", for the lack of a better word (not a native speaker, sorry). Let me explain.
Previous albums had a lot of tracks that weren't Rock, but were VERY innovative and interesting such as In the Frozen, Sleepwalking, And then there was no one left, Trap, Whistle, 4 Memory, Poison Love, and MANY more. It's "classic Dreamcatcher sound" even if none of these songs has Rock elements to it. No one but Dreamcatcher could have made these songs.
Here, I don't really get that same feeling. We got 4 ballads and tracks like Playground or No Dot that honestly, at least to me they sound like they could've been released by any other modern gg. It's sad for fans to see that such a 'unique' group is blending in with the rest of the pack mainly because there is absolutely no replacement for Dreamcatcher. So please don't take the words of the 'concerned' fans as hate.
I'm still hyped for songs like Starlight (sounds so freaking good honestly it might become one of my all time favorites), JiU's Cherry is also great and maybe MAISON but that might be it for me, and I used to listen to the whole Dreamcatcher albums with no skips.

@@cookiegalletitas I dont completely agree with your take. I feel that you need to separate the solos and the OT7 songs. The solos are meant to be something the girls want to produce in their own styles and what suits them hence why the girls each had a hand in making their solo songs. In the first place the girls are just starting out in helping to produce their songs from these last couple of albums, you cant expect them to be able to produce songs at the same style and level as Leez and Ollunder. More importantly the songs havent even fully dropped yet so we still have to wait and see. Even if it is as you say and it is more mainstream, there are still two more albums to come so at least reserve all judgements until everything comes out.

Second, i myself i'm not saying anything until the full album is released, because you never know if rock elements are gonna appear later, like what happened with BEcause, but all i'm saying is that even after that people aren't feeling some of the songs, it's not a bad thing to dislike them if they don't criticize the girls at the end. Overall, this is not the first time it happens, it's a recurring situation since Summer Holiday dropped, and if people give up on them because of their sound changing directions, these comments should go away in no time, so it's not really something to worry about happening for a long period of time.

As a metalhead i just want to say to those people hinting that they're disappointed with the new sound...why you jump into conclusions with just ten seconds of a song??, to be honest i didn't even like BEcause in the first listen, it wasn't enough for me because i couldn't find the rock sound, just in the 2nd part of the chorus theres kind of an electric guitar, but still it sounds more pop-ish, even so, DC has something i can't describe that they can make metalheads like me end up loving that kind of song, now BEcause its such an enjoyable song for me, i even ended up loving some b-sides that weren't my taste such as black or white or poison love.
So i'm sure that this time i don't have anything to worry about. They will include, if not in the chorus, the rock sound at the beginning or in the pre-chorus, or a tiny bit of an electric guitar, so don't worry...and if they don't, well we still have their previous songs or Dami's solo.
Anyways, i'm sure you all (and me) will end up loving Maison even if it sounds more pop-ish

am i the only one glad they’re taking this route? mixing rock elements with other genres is a very smart strategy. they’re not losing their signature sound and are more likely to appeal to the general public especially with the b-sides. some of you are complaining for no reason at all and it’s getting quite annoying lol. they’re not losing their signature sound because they’re not doing heavy metal. if you want heavier songs, listen to their old releases, simple as that! they’re taking this turn and the best you can do is deal with it

@@TheBloobster it's okay, the album has not come out completely so don't lose hope, I have read that the álbum have have rock elements for example locked inside the door is full punk rock, even the girls had said that maison is their second song with a difficult choreography after chase so I guess what will be full rock, listening well to the part they put of maison sounds like the end of the song so it does not show much
they're not "taking this route" just recently tho, they've been mixing rock elements with other genres since debut, if you listen to their debut song chase me, it doesn't even start with electric guitar and drums, it starts with sweet piano melody. dreamcatcher is a rock-influenced KPOP group so of course their genre is POP, but leez and ollounder has been experimenting with other genres with them and i love it

What they did with the Dystopia trilogy was the best compromise imo. After dystopia they just went overboard with the generic sound.

People should appreciate their Japanese music. Don't light my fire and No More are actual metal songs that deserve appreciation and Endless Night is a heavier alt rock track. Those Insomnia should not complain, DC feed us with great music that many ignore.
@지수Jisoo remember that most of the japanese releases cam out before the group blew up and Japan doesn't have any music shows so it kind of defeats the purpose of streaming. Also they couldn't compete in the japanese market for now so they had to leave pony canyon.

Sua’s and Yoohyeon’s solo songs sound like my favorite songs. Couldn’t tell what Sua’s solo would sound like and Yoohyeon’s solo gives off jazzy vibes which I love. Both are totally my style and I am very excited!
