Your story is beautiful. I had my little boy premature in February by emergency section. I did not get skin to skin, or even to meet him. I didn't experience labour. I mourn it honestly. Knowing beautiful experiences like this take place warms my heart. Im so happy for you. Next time, I hope my experience is similar.

So many similarities to my labour. Back to back is no joke. I love those supportive midwives, that help you pass through it and reassure you. I'm glad you and Romy had a peaceful transition into the world, for Jack to be by your side too 😭😭😭🥰💕
I will never not be in complete awe of what the female body can accomplish. People love to say “we’re made to give birth” and I think that undermines what a feat it is. So happy for you and your sweet family

I love the things that Jamie says about certain things, that are totally normal where she lives. I’m sitting here wondering “did her midwife really go for her tea break? Or just a lunch break? Does Jamie really have book club meetings or is that what they call it there when the girls get together for a girls night?!”

What a beautiful birth story. I had a similar experience with a back labour….oh the pain ! I was on the hormone drip too and my labour went so fast I had no time for an epidural…it was still the best experience . Wishing you Jack and Romy all the happiness in the world xxx
I am just seeing this months on - sounds like you had a great birth - that is amazing. I definitely think hypnobirthing babies are so chill as well - my wee youngest was hypnobaby and is now almost 13 and he is to this day still so chilled out! X delighted for

I had all of my labor in my back so I know exactly what you went through. I went into active labor on a Thursday and had my son on Saturday late afternoon. Congratulations she is absolutely beautiful

Congrats on your beautiful baby girl Romy. Enjoy every second of the day, it'll blink in an eye on how much she will change. I'm still saying 3 kids on, with a 7, 3 & 2 year old. Labour with my wee boy was soo different to having the 2 girls, 1st girl was born in an ambulance after 45mins of labour then with my 2nd girl again nearly in an ambulance with the paramedics saying I wasn't in labour but as soon as I got to the hospital, I could tell I was ready to push, after 32minutes of labour our 2nd girl was born. Soo good to see your back but don't over do it, take it easy :) xx

This was lovely, I’m so happy for you and Jack. Your story brought me right back to my son’s birth 19 years ago, he’s still growing taller every day, sometimes I forget those first moments with him in the world. ❤

I'm due my wee baby boy in August & I can't breastfeed due to medication and it's made me so emotional bc I had my heart set on it. So glad your birth went well after your pregnancy was so wonderful xxx

Really enjoyed listening to your story and hearing it was so positive! I went through back labour too. You've convinced me that if I do it again I absolutely will have an epidural. Sounds like you're doing amazing - no one tells you how hard breastfeeding can be! Or how hard the hormones are when you get home. Enjoy your baby. So happy for you ❤

You're honestly the loveliest wee lassie ever and I was sat here enthralled and excited and just smiling all the way through your birth story. You speak from your heart and with such care and compassion for all. Thank you so much. ( I've had epidurals during both deliveries and I remember my leg just fell off the bed!! I had no idea 😂😅) . You look so so happy, congratulations! Your description of early labour is exactly what I had, days of contractions with no progress. I was also back to back too, sadly I never progressed and after 2 days of induction ended up having a c-section. Still so gutted I didn’t get the ‘high’ you have described, would have absolutely loved to have been able to push her out but so glad you got a lovely positive story xx

What a beautiful birth story 💞. I had a very traumatic birth of my wee boy, but it is such a delight to know that other women do manage to have a nice experience and that it's not miserable for all of us! At the end of the day, we have our babies in our arms and that's all that matters. It would be really nice if you could share the company you used to encapsulate your placenta, your playlist and the things you did end up using during labour. All the best Jamie, I can already tell you are a great mum 🥰

Congratulations again! Of course I've already followed your posts on Instagram. It's so nice to see and hear that you had a positive birth experience and that Romy is healthy. Romy is such a beautiful name. When I read this I immediately remembered my favourite show as a child "Around the world with Willy Fog" and my favourite character was Princess Romy. :)

When you said you were experiencing back labor I swear I had flashbacks to my own experience and omg nothing compares to it 😭 when talking to other mamas who have experiences both kinds of labor everyone says back labor is the worst lol. I’m so excited to hear the rest of this story ❤

During 8 hours of labour My middle child, was back too back ( transverse) I couldn’t cope & eventually they did a C section! I wanted a water birth to begin with, that didn’t happen & My birth plan didn’t go too plan! My next daughter 2 years later came within 2 hours, tens machine on, no drugs quickest birth for me, delivered her very quickly & she was 11 days late! 2 hours from start to finish! 8 hours with my 1st & 2nd baby! Xx

My 1st baby was back to back, I was 16 and used gas n air 😂 almost broke my teeth on the mouthpiece. I felt as though my back was breaking. Your labour is the exact same as mine! Right down to the monitor on the head. I delivered him face up, or as they say “sunny side up”. Well done you xxx

Congratulations!!! This birth story took away some of the worry/fear that I have for when I have kids.
Congrats to you and Jack😊 Unfortunately I don’t have any kids myself because I got married when I was much older. But, just like you I believe it’s a blessing and a gift to be able to give birth. The whole birthing thing is such miracle and it is something to be grateful for. Enjoy Romy❤

I also had back labor and felt the exact same way like my back had been breaking. There was no preparing for that pain especially when everyone including the internet tells you that labor is just like a strong period. I remember screaming like an insane person and thinking I would never ever go through that again.

As someone who did not have a magical birth- the part where you acknowledged the people who had a really difficult or unplanned birth made me tear up. I so appreciate you saying that. Congratulations Jamie! Watched this with my 2 week old daughter on my chest ❤ i also had a 22 year old midwife who was bloody incredible, i was induced and had a 2 day wait for a bed on labour suite so she was a literal angel 🤣 x
