Great analysis, thank you! I've watched several videos on this topic & this is the best...it's specific & direct. Using the same hook size gave a perfect visual & the color & texture comparison was very helpful.👏🌈
The comparisons were helpful! I will say that the "lay flat to dry" instructions on the Posh yarn put me off, so I'm stuck with my Bernat for the time being. Desperate times!
Its so interesting how people are so different when it comes to their yarn preferences. I absolutely hate sweet snuggles! I primarily use bernat blanket for my plushies. I have absolutely no issue with my tension however that's just me. Great comparison video though, i always wondered the difference between the posh and snuggles so thanks.
I agree! I use Bernat Blanket a majority of the time. I haven’t had much luck with Sweet Snuggles lite/home slim. It never sews closed without stripping and jamming on me. I do like Parfait Chunky for the most part. Sometimes it is also a pain to close, but it’s easy to work with!
I agree 💯% on Parfait Chunky actually being a size 5. Posh actually works up slightly larger for me. I love that it is easy to work with and the colors are usable! As for the patterns, I’d love to have a wolf option. I’ve had a few requests, but I just can’t find a nice pattern.
I gave up amigurumi because of Bernat blanket. For Christmas, I made a monster for each of my grandkids, great grandkids, and a great nephew, 8 total. Most were 4 weight yarns, and 2 were Bernat blanket. The Bernat came out about 15 inches tall. I hurt so bad by the time I finished (I’m 62 with arthritic hands). Maybe it wasn’t just the amigurumi. Maybe it was the yarn! Thank you for your opinions on these.
Try a different yarn! I started out with bernat and was going to quit until I found sweet snuggles lite. It's sooo much easier and doesn't cause me any pain. My joints hurt when I use bernat so I bet it's the yarn!
I thought I was the only only one that was hurt by Bernat Blanket. I agree with you about Posh. Just squeezed it today, lol. To me the Posh feels much like the Bernat Baby Blanket. I was trying to find traditional mallard colors like the dark green but I can’t find it in the posh style yarn. Any suggestions?
You are not alone! Bernat blanket pains me so much to work with. I try to avoid it at all cost. As for colors, I use Agave in Chenille Home Slim. I think Premier also has a green that works
I'm loving the Posh for my smaller items. It frogs out, no pun intended, so much easier than chenille yarn. I also like sweet snuggles, not a fan of parfait chunky as for me it deteriorates too much for me.
Yes! It frogs out so much easier than sweet snuggles or parfait. ❤ That's another reason I think it's good for anyone. You can actually make mistakes and not worry about ruining your yarn
It really sticks that in Canada we can't get this new yarn,, been hard seeing everyone review it and I can't play with it.. I am not a fan of bernat either,,, but I could never use a 5mm hook,,, I have to use a 6.5 with bernat
@@travelingponystudio no Joanne's or hobby lobby. I signed up online for a Joanne's account and i tried to buy the posh online and it says can't ship to my destination
I like your post, but I thought u might be interested to hear that the most popular blanket I ever made was for my toddler gson. It was bernat blanket in variegated green. He's addicted to it. But its hard to work with. For toys I usually use worsted which seems to be phasing out to chenille.. I did do some in Chenille, but I'm afraid it will unravel. Looking forward to see more of your videos.
I think I know which color you're talking about and it is pretty! I just wish it was softer. I also love worsted but chenille definitely seems to be taking over
So I'm unclear, you LOVE Bernat right? 🤣 jk that stuff wears out my hands and they hurt for days after 😭 but I'm definitely enjoying the Posh much more.

Thanks for the comparison of the yarns. I will have to try the posh.

That's how I feel too! I've had some request for a wolf pattern but haven't found something I like! I'll try and make one!

Bernat is like fighting the yarn instead of crocheting it!🧶

Make whatever you want as sometimes we don't know we want it until some else makes it.
That's so true! I'm feeling like a cute fox! ❤

If I ever admit to loving Bernat just know I've been kidnapped!!!
Please make a fat cat pattern.
Sweet snuggles yarn is so soft and has good colors but the quality is horribleeee it keeps breaking and fraying smh
