This video is invaluable. I went into PPC without really knowing anything about it and next thing I know I'm being slugged with a $200 advertising bill for a month where I didn't sell a single product.
One thing above all that people should know about Amazon FBA is how many ways they have to fleece you of your profits if you're not paying attention.
Why do you think you made zero sales? Was it to do with the ad campaign or perhaps your listing was missing keywords or something?

This was an *extremely* helpful vid, thanks Ben! But can you (or someone reading this) explain more about the importance of impressions while advertising? Do you have to pay more for increased impressions? Do they cost as much as the actual clicks?
I ask because, if it means you aren't getting clicks and impression only means that your ad shows, it sounds like you're still paying for those impressions which seems a bit costly. I don't know how any business could afford that long term. I'm learning so sorry in advance if my wording sucks.

15% of sales from PPC does not sound bad to me, it is less than 20% which means there is 80% of organic sales across all products. Think it is also me to see that the PPC campaign brings in revenue but it is not to the point that is majority of your revenue.i also think Acos is very interesting as I am always focused the amazon fees.

If you are spending 3 pounds on ad. 10 pounds is sale price. 4 pound would be at least FBA cost. So we are left with 3 pounds. That would cover the cost of product . Where is the profit ? Whats the point of PPc
The profit is when u spend 3 pound and u get 10 sales 20 or 100 sales tell me now will u make profit now?

Hey Ben, Major props to you for this great vid! Something I don't understand. You set the cpc at .50 but the suggested is much higher. How are you ever going to sell if everyone is out-bidding you? Nobody will see your product!

Very informative video, how do you calculate the breakeven for the ACOS percentage? that part i wasnt sure about :-S
if your gross profit is 25% then 25% ACOS will be breakeven ACOS, if Gross profit is 25% and ACOS IS 20% it means that PPC sales are 5% profitable for you
How do you figure out your break even percentage?
its simple
if your gross margins are 30%
than your breakeven ACOS will be 30%
Profit margin = ACOS
Very good but do you didn't explain why you chose 50P a bid;when Amazon recommended 89p?
The recommended bid just shows me the competition for that keyword
Initially I usually go 10% higher than Amazons recommended bid

Do you need to keep a excel sheet for your campaigns or does the platform have enough information and data to help you keep on top
we do need an excel sheet, here's why
you download the reports from the platform and they are in excel form
So you keep record in form of excel
You use keywords from these excel files in your campaigns and you use these files to compare the keyword performance with the new file that you generate at any later stage

I started 2 ppc campaigns about 18 hours ago and bid very high but has got no impressions. The ads are in very relevant keywords And status says it’s delivering. What could be the issue?
This is also my first product and it’s also says active and ready to sell.
If there is no impression with a high bid, then you must be targeting irrelevant keywords.
Target your most relevant keywords
OR
If you target relevant keywords but no impression, then increase its bid slightly and see the results.

Hi I have a question, imagine that I sell 300 products do I need to create 300 groups ads and put a product in each group or I can put everything in the same group, for example 300 products in the same group?
every product will have its different campaign, you cannot put them in the same ad group as amazon will not be able to identify and allot the budget as required so the money spent will probably be wasted
Damn , so basically 35% of your sales is going back to ppc , Amazon takes between 15% and 20% cut from the selling price , it’s about 50% of the total sales $ that’s going back to Amazon …if your margin is not at least 5X or more from your purchase price it seems like Amazon won’t be a good option .. like impossible to make a profit , no wonder it’s full of cheap overpriced Chinese products

How can you place default Bid at .50 and state, under no uncertain terms will Amazon go above that amount. Yet it shows CPC above that amount for EVERY keyword. I'm very confused.

Hello I have a question so i ended up archiving like 5 of my campaigns do to no activity after like one week and some I just made some mistakes in when lounging Is it ok to never turn those back on are they considered like they are not there anymore? As like in delete status

but you need to learn bid optimization properly like how to optimize and what metrics to keep in mind while doing so
