The Sultry stage presentation, instrumentals played just underneath her vocals, equals exquisite listening & the mood they obviously wanted to create to the perfection they have reached. Excellent.
Her voice is like a blast of fresh air in a stale music landscape. I've said for years this type of music is just waiting to be discovered and become relevant again.
Nah… long life to Harlem, NY and New Orleans, LA! Lol where it all began! the heart, hope and struggle of a people set to a melody! But this singer and band were awesome!👏🏾
Other than a few Jeff Buckley tunes, St. James Infirmary is my favorite song of all time. It always sounds great no matter who performs it, and I love how each singer switches up the lyrics whether it's Armstrong, the White Stripes, Hugh Laurie, etc.
almost as good as Cab ... but holy shit is it excellent. By far one of the best modern rendition I've heard (and as a Cab fan, I've heard many). Good work !!
Marc-André Lefebvre There are two excellent versions by Tom Jones, both with Jools Holland Band. On one version he sings solo, but there's another excellent rendition when Rhiannon Giiddens duets with him. Both really deserve a listen. My own favourite is the duet with Rhiannon Giddens but the solo version is also very good. The Jools Holland Band plays mean blues.
I have another recording by the Speakesies, but at that time there three singers. They called themselves Speakesies Three. So what happened to the other two singers.
Can someone recommend me some similiar bands doing this kind of music? I really love it and ive listened to almost every song their released and now i am craving 💆🏻♀️😂
+charlieoscar09 From Wikipedia: "St. James Infirmary Blues", sometimes known as "Gambler's Blues," is an American folksong of anonymous origin, though sometimes credited to the songwriter Joe Primrose (a pseudonym for Irving Mills). Louis Armstrongmade it famous in his influential 1928 recording. Cheers ;)
An excellent version, though she has a sex change between verses (or at least indulges in cross-dressing)! It's a bit of a surprise when at the end she suddenly speaks in her native language. And I hope no-one minds me saying that, as she wiggled across the stage away from the camera, I remembered what someone once said about Marilyn Monroe: "That dame's future is all behind her!"
Schöne rothaarige Lady.... , feminine Stimme, feminine Ausstrahlung und ein aufregend weibliches Satinkleid..... Sie trägt sicherlich glänzende Strümpfe unter dem Kleid....
Caterina's voice is so angelical, pure class, and wonderful! One of the best bands for sure.

Back again. I love this .

Great singer, great band.
When you hear music like this, you know that Robert Johnson was not the only one who made a wise bargain.
almost as good as Cab ... but holy shit is it excellent. By far one of the best modern rendition I've heard (and as a Cab fan, I've heard many). Good work !!
This IS really good, one of my faves though has to be Hugh Laurie's cover of it. That man has an amazing voice.
Nacht Kind Hugh Laurie’s version is by far the best I have seen. He is an unbelievable talent. The guy can do everything!
Marc-André Lefebvre

I suggest Post modern jukebox
Neadled PG Hugh Laurie, yes, the guy from House. Great cover of this and terrific music overall. 👍
Cissie Sedgwick; The Sweet Nothings.

PLEASE STOP SAYING HEYYYYYY ... LOL
Does nobody can do a good atualization of this song?
Hey this is not an American Folk song this is a British song about a person in a Leper hospital
+charlieoscar09 But, I believe, the quintessential cover version was done by Louis Armstrong.

Joe Cocker reste le meilleur interprète de cette très belle chanson
She reminds me a bit of Jessica Rabbit
What language was that at the end? Is that a dialect of Italian?
It is Greek.
They are playing in Greece (Hellas).
La cantante è italo-greca!
La cantante è italo-greca!
so Jessica Rabbit in the flesh
Now that is a keeper descriptive for sure.
Just pure great stuff. Always love this style of music.

This is really good but no way is it Swing. It's Blues. Get your eras correct.
No
what drugs she doing
This is excellent except for that cheap sounding keyboard tone
Way to butcher the song. Honestly you should've just stuck to the original song rather than ruin it.
